Strange PR update

Hello,

I recently noticed the PR update for my site (first in signature), but is really strange. The homepage got PR 3, the top operating system categories got PR 2.
The strange things are:

1. Links page got PR 4 even though all the links I got are to the homepage
2. The main categories from windows (home) like Audio & Multimedia, ... shows as unranked.

What is this unranked means and how bad is it?

 

Very similar situation with me.

Homepage of my webmaster directory (available in sig.) has PR4 but even some deeper links (especially on the blog of the directory) has PR4 too.
I am sure that i got links to homepage of the web directory only too.

Should we expect PR6 on the homepage soon? (Tell me the good news ) I remember such strange situations in previous update too and i am hopeful about this.

 

I'm in the same situation, and praying for the above results. But in all honesty, i doubt it and don't want to get my hopes up!

Also, backlinks updated again on the 26th of April, a couple days before the PR updated. What does this mean? will there be another update in the next week or so?

I don't expect nothing than to have a decent PR on the categories pages. And of course I would greatly appreciate if someone can explain me the phenomenon.

 

Yes strange update, my blog jumped from PR 0 to PR 4

 

I think it was partial update like the update we had last time..first inner pages got high pr then another update and main page got high PR too

I had the same situation for one of my site, a blog page which has no links over web has the same PR value with the homepage. Even the domain without "www" has a less PR than this page.

I think and hope 26th of April was a new snapshot and we'll see a new update in 10 days. 2nd of April was too early to take a snapshot Uncle Google! 26 days is a very very long time.

 

Same here I thought it was my speciality.
My main page is Pr 2
My inner pages varies from Pr4 to Pr5

 

Ok. It seems the strange effects of the last PR update can be seen on many other sites. But can someone tell me what's with the unranked status for my category pages?

 

I'm seeing the unranked pages on my site too. I'm not sure what it means...but I'm hoping that the pr update just isn't finished.

 

For some reason, my www went from 0 to 2, and my non-www went from 2 to 0. (All the links are to the non-www)

Google is weird.

 

I suppose Google worked out a new algorithm just to end the fleecing SEOs.

 

I don't think the update is over

 

I hope the update process isn't over and one of these days all these "small" errors will be fixed.

 

I think backlinks is not the only elements consider when giving PR to a page.

I have seen crazy things too, some inner pages gained a 3 and other pages are greyed out in the PR bar, anyone else see greyed bar, plus the greyed pages aren't new ones or supps. crazzzzzy

 

Ok i found a few more threads about this. As far as i see this is a bug on google side. But i wonder what will be the pagerank of my homepage at the end and when will this happen? Let me know if you found answer of these questions in these threads.

I am seeing all my inner pages greyed out in the PR bar, even though the greyed pages r not supps.... I think there is a change in the Google PR Algo, or else can be a flaw on google's side.

 

for me it is more strange

my forum index pagerank is the same pr3 but all internal links (exp www.domain.com/forum/section-name/ got PR4
how can this be ???
