I have just seen a number of page rank updates on some of my sites, but the results are strange. For two of my sites, I have a page rank of 3 for the main domain, but yet the other common links on the site, such as categories ALL have a page rank one higher, of 4. Why do so many pages have a PR of 4 while the main page has a PR of 3?.... It would make more sense if the main domain had a PR of 5 in my mind. Any ideas people? I have a sad feeling the PR update on my sites is done and im going to be stuck with this, but how any why the hell would my categories have a higher PR, than my main with many backlinks etc? Thanks
This toolbar export, like the last one, seems to only be giving new PR values to pages that previously had no pagerank. Therefore, if your site had PR last update then it remained the same despite any backlink changes.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=61489 http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=84181 I hate to see you are having problems, this is a bug that has apparently not gone away. The important thing to take from the threads above is that you probably do have a PR5 somewhere on your site, it is just misappropriated. Everything should act as though you have a PR5 homepage, and will straighten out in the next update. Look around a bit. I bet it is there... And I expect a secondary update to the current one going on, due to the observations mentioned by mdvaldosta.
Many thanks for the replies guys, and for the links. Seems very strange to me indeed, especially as this has happened on two of my sites, (one which is new and has no page ranks at all) and one that had a main domain PR. As I thought, it's like the main page is acting as a PR of 5 but not showing it, I will look to see if I can find the PR5 page, (maybe the google sitemaps admin place will show me sometime). Pain in the ass though, as I am planning on using text-link-ads, and the price goes mostly from the main domain page rank, which is of course lower. Thanks again for the help
NetMidVest, I hope that what have you written is correct. It would mean that my old home page will went from PR5 to at least PR6 or PR7 with the next update. My prediction tool predicts it to 5.07 currently and all other prediction tools predict PR0-PR3 for that page.
It happened to me... it also was the most recent page created, if that helps you find the inner high PR page.
yes.. i have noticed this for about the past hour. LOTS of drops. I was waiting for a thread to be made, because i didn't want to be the starter of such to get flamed. This toobar update is freaking me out
I'm seeing homepage go down PR5-PR3 while subpages went PR0-PR6. On another site we have PR6-PR while subpages went PR5-PR0. Come on Google for now on is every updated going to be flawed?!
The new PR update and Toolbar update is going haywire. I have a 3 month old domain which is now PR5 from PR0. However, one of it's page is now PR8! PR5 domain: http://www.smartwifi.org.ph PR8 page: http://www.smartwifi.org.ph/isulong-seoph/isulong-seoph/
Yes i have that's kind of web in which have different extremely page rank and other low page rank in other pages
