I'm confused about this last PR update. The inside links from one of my websites have more PR than the index. There is absolutely no link poiting to them, except the ones comming from the index page. The result is that the domain itself has PR1 and the other pages have PR4 and 3. Someone saw this before? Do I have to wait for the next toolbar update?
Same on one of my sites. But on spring update. Got index page with pr1 and about 50 pages with pr3. On this update all went to pr0.
So are you saying that you kept that result (pr1 index, inside pages pr3) until this last update? I was guessing this was a temporal thing, not something that would last so much.
this had happened on many of my sites last update. Many of the internal pages have now dropped in this update.
Index stayed the same. Long standing well optimized inner pages either stayed the same or lost PR. A few even went to PR 0. New pages - within last 30 days - got PR HIGHER than inner pages and index page. Site is well optimized all white hat. Makes absolutely no sense. Google is broken in every sense of the word. And no I am not a PR FREAK. My sites rank well, I actually have no gripes with my rankings, in fact the latest SERP updates we have improved. I offer my 2 cents as more of interest, intrigue, and curiosity.
I have seen this before with my site when I was doing too much reciprocal linking. I'm not sure if that is your problem. Either that or you might be over optimizing by using the same anchor text too much which does not look natural. When I dropped my reciprocal links directory the problem went away and my homepage PR went back up to normal.
I did exchange some links 2 months ago, but despite if this is the reason, seems like it's some kind of punishment right?
this update was very weird, and so was the last one on 4/4. I honestly hope good will do another update for old sites this or next month
mobilebay you have unrelevant link exchange in your page footer. remove that and submit reinclusion index. and stop to complain about your site.
I think the main indexes of sites are still being updated. my new sites got PR, but the main pages never changed.
Yes it would seem this PR Update only affected new pages and established inner pages. The home page of established PR sites has definately not been updated anywhere yet.
One of my sites went from PR3 to PR5 (reg. in February, 2006). I noticed that searchenginewatch has 8 now. I don't see its value (a lot of links on the main page, not much useful content, almost empty forums). I think it had 7 before this update. I don't understand how searchenginewatch got 8.
Yes, for now - who knows when the next update will be. To be honest, I'd stop worrying about when the next update will be and concentrate on building links to your website. The last update was the same as the previous one - the majority of new pages and new sites got PR increase/decrease, where older pages and domains didn't see any increase at all. I was fairly pleased with the last update because all of my internal pages now have PR.
