Had to edit the post as my previous was removed by stuff. I'm not sure of the reason, so better will make new thread and then if removed I will know there are good, but also better than good among us.
Well the post looked really good and it’s very strange that someone removed it . Just create a new thread and see what happens.
Thanks ! Ask ! How I wish people were so friendly like you and few others here. I have much more to announce so definitely must create new thread.
I think you may very well be right about that. As I stated to you Mhamdi, I don't know you very well, and I have tried not to judge you, and I also hope that you have done the same for me. Thank you for your efforts to make a positive contribution. I appreciate your contribution to this topic as well. You have been one of (and arguably the very best) the best mod developers phpLD has ever seen, and when someone makes the same mod as you, I try to carefully see what is going on, and help if I can. It is my sincere hope that you (both) and others can compete, yet also innovate, and do all this in a respectful way. Innovation is really important right now, and I am also going to try my best to come up with some additional revenue sources for directory owners. I'm working hard on that now. I still believe there is a lot more to be gained, but innovation is absolutely necessary for us to grow.
Very true, we have shared pleasant communication/discussion. This mod may sound like somewhat easy to a pro coder and to people who have passion to code themselves. There are people who have done this on their own, but I know they don't sell, because they know its very difficult and time consuming to provide support on continuous basis. To be honest its a bit complicated code and affects number of files. In my opinion this is not something a less techie person can implement and easily sail through. So in short any pro might would have already done/created on his own and will not seek help. However, if you are looking for stability, support, reconfigurability, additional add-ons (like multi payment) and scalability, my suggestion you need to be in good hand and have continuous support next to you. A person who is there yesterday, today and tomorrow These are my 2C, Anyway Mhamdi, you are making good progress and congrats on your success. Wish you all the best
Well the mod is very well structured and elegant. IMHO a good small detail would be to make the JavaScript code only appear on the submit page, because is not necessary on the other pages. {literal} <script language="JavaScript"> function setVisibility(id, visibility) { ....................................... .................................. {/literal}
Agreed. The mod of an0n is just as the products of MS, it's very stable and has good support. The mod of Mhamdi is just as some open sources projects, it's free but you have to do everything by yourself. To most programmers, they like open source projects, but to those people who know little about php,mysql and javascript, they tend to buy MS products .
Well, mhamdi Did great job making this mod... specially Webmaster like me, who cant afford to buy $100 mod for each directory. So yah i will say he just started it, give him some time, he might come up with something good. Just keep in mind, ITS FREE.
I look forward to it....And thanks very much for this MOD!! Will start installing it when I get up... Edit:Just noticed it's done already,can't wait to install it.
Some of the top fortune 500 companies use lots of open source software... and for those like you, theres always a chance to pay someone to help you install. I'm pretty sure you can find someone to do it in 30 mins and won't mind working for 5-10 bucks. So again, not sure why your trying to compare an0ns deep link mod and put down this open source script thats probably not even completely finished yet. Again, great job by mhamdi for doing this.
Before installation of any Mod make sure that you have a mysql backup for your own safety. @MeetHere - I think he want to see live demo where so many links are there (live) not demo
Wow so my previous thread finally bears some result and I'm impressed! After going through the 3 posts on that blog..yes, I think it'll work and I'll be implementing this in my directories shortly. Kudos and thanks!
