I'm aware that an0n does deeplink mod for $$$ but I cant pay that sum. Does anybody have any clue if some cheap deep link mod for phpld is available?
I don't know of one, though it may exist. Maybe you should focus your efforts on the marketing of your directory, and building pagerank. Then hopefully in a few months when you have a PR 5+ site the $100 won't seem as steep as it is now. Does that seem like a possible plan? Also note, there will soon be a mod (free to supporters forum members) that allows you to sell articles as well as links (free and paid just like links). That might be another way you can develop and additional revenue stream for your directory. There is more coming too. Thanks, David
I was shocked when I found out the price of an0n's mod, but after installing and doing a bit of selective promotion I made a profit within 24 hours
It would be nice if we can have more options!!! That way no one is left behind. Let's us know when you have it ready.
You should really keep in mind that you get what you pay for. Sometimes "cheap" ends up costing you more in the long run.
Hello So ummmmm whats a buck nowadays? Nothing compared to tadays prices... 4 featured links sales? = a few days 1 fill up at the tank? = Suv or truck 1 pair of name brand jeans and a t-shirt? i see here crying have never even bothered to buy a paid link from any of my directories so now i can understand were you actually are coming from.... While i must admit i wish i was paying cheaper..... dont we all i look at the overall picture and get my conclusion that i spent that $100 bucks and made 4 times back already in all the directories that have the mod installed....... so to me i still came out... way ahead and i know if something goes wrong with that mod which i doubt will as it dont wear out but atleast i can say im not stressing..... i got the support so ......... Will be fun to see you in action paid hosting for the support Good luck regardless thx malcolm
i agree that you get what you pay for..if i am willing to pay high xxx for links and submissions, then to be sure i can pay low xxx for a feature for my site
Yes it does but some people have a hard time grasping the fact that the Mod costs 4x's the amount they paid for the whole script. I have it on 2 of my directories and have recouped my investment but that by no means makes it worthwhile for everyone and in fact if it wasn't for Chris (Mystic) I would still be in the red. an0n's support is first rate, his mod is outstanding, and his fee's are reasonable for many as witnessed by the many that have purchased his Mod but that doesn't mean the market doesn't exist for something similar at a lower price
I have been in this business a long time and always full time that means in simple terms that I have to make revenue And lets make this 100% clear :- YOU DO NOT MAKE MONEY BY IMPLEMENTING CHEAP PRACTICES OR SOLUTIONS
Cheap doesn't always translate to poor quality nor does expensive always translate to excellent quality. The cream will usually rise to the top irregardless of the cost. If someone writes a Mod that is just as functional why do some automatically think it will be garbage just because of its cost?
I was told the other day that the word "cheap" can be an ugly word. If something else in the market happens to be less expensive, doesn't mean the mod itself is "cheaper in quality" or won't work as good as the other ones paying $100 for it. As a directory owner, if the deep link mod is so useful, then I might just have to build it myself--or wait for paidhosting's version. And no, its not about "not wanting to spend money to make money." Its more about just using the skill you worked hard for and putting it into use. Cheers
for $49 you can get a superior directory script (esyndicat), and adding deeplinks is done from the admin panel in 2 minutes. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=282432&highlight=additional+links+esyndicat you also can get rid of the copyright notice for free. and unlimited licences rate is very affordable.
