    Yeah, whats up with this.
I just noticed that I have received 12 reputation points. But none of them is "red" or "green". All are "Grey".
What does this mean? Most of them are coming from SEO sub-forums.
How to go green BTW? :D

    Cheers,
    Sarim.

He means by the users who given them to you. If you have a certain number of posts instead of giving out green rep, you give out grey which just means "neutral" it's just a precaution to stop people from constantly giving each other green reps when they sign up.

I believe that's how it works on most forums including here anyway. Feel free to correct me if im wrong.

Thanks Stinger for your explanation. I though that "post rule" was limited to BST section only :D

So a user must have a certain number of posts to give a green rep? Whats that number BTW?

    Best,
    Sarim.

    Grey: neutral
    Red: Bad
    Green: Good

Easy as that... How to get green? Help people, be nice, contribute, answer... that's it

    Cheers!

Thanks for your reply, Victoria :)

But I want to know how many posts a user must have to submit a reputation that affects a user. Because if someone very new submits a green, it simply turns out to a grey and doesn't affect the user at all :D

I really couldn't find where was this mentioned :D
If a user needs a 1000 posts, then most of DP users are unable to submit "effective" reputation, I think :)

I created a thread before to ask the minumum number of rep one must have so that it counts as green but unfortuantely even mods didn't knew it. I think it is more than 20 because two out of 3 reps that i get are gray.

Are you talking about number of posts or is it reputation points?

That's very true. In fact many people don't even know that anything like reputation exists.
I am talking about the rep points that one must have in order so that his rep counts as green. I think one should have more than 20 rep so that his rep is counted green.

Well, its like if a member gives you rep in certain areas you won't get points(that is called grey reps) But in the same area someone with higher reps already(Like one who has 8 bars already) gives you then you get points(green). This includes general chat and some other sections.

Also, when someone with higher reps give you green reps then you get 10 green points but if the member is new without having any rep then it should be grey.

And there is no need to worry about reputations specially. :)
