So what should be in new Adsense Privacy Policy

Discussion in 'AdSense' started by nikmahajan, Mar 15, 2009.

After the launch of interest based advertising, Google has asked all adsense publishers to update their privacy policy but Google forgot to clearly mention what extra should be added in new adsense privacy policy.

I think we have to mention about Dart Cookie only as an additional parameter in privacy policy. Is any thing extra required?

Yes. ALL websites and blogs that have Adsense ads must have a privacy policy or risk being banned.

I forget which link it is, but follow the links in adsense email and they provide all the info you need.

Just search popular forums on your niche and check whether they're using adsense, then look around for their privacy policy and make one yourself..

I added the dart cookie info to my privacy policy, with a little extra info of my own, thats ample for letting the visitor know that info is being collected on them and is what google are talking about with the interest based advertising.

Ive actually kept mine small and will be trimming down the pp's on my other sites, no need for a load of bewildering text on a page i feel.

I have added this and this is what they have recommended

Google Ads that Are On Our Website

    # Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on our website.
    # Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our sites and other sites on the Internet.
    # Users may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the
Google ad and content network privacy policy

All you got to do is add the link to the last part

I added it to my other sites i may just take the link unit of on the joke site

i already had a line about cookies and web-beacons, so like Jkadin said, i just added a bit more specifically about the DART cookie used by Google.

Adsense emailed to all their publishers a week ago.
If you don't know what exactly to write in your Privacy Policy, You can use an Adsense Friendly Privacy Policy Generator.

I think jkadin made it right, as this was also advised to me by a good friend.

Here is the part that was added to my Privacy page...

Google and the DoubleClick DART Cookie

Google, as a third party vendor, uses cookies to serve ads on this site. Google's use of the DART cookie enables it to serve ads to this site's visitors based on their visit to this site and other sites on the Internet. Visitors may opt out of the use of the DART cookie by visiting the Google ad and content network privacy policy.

If you wish, you can also check out my site to view the whole content.

    Hope that helps.

Here is a neat generator for sitemaps. Just choose adsense type in your domain and it does everything for you. I use it for all of my websites.
