Not trying to trick anyone into clicking anything. It's obviously proven that images will draw attention to links. If a user then clicks something he/she is interested in, then everyone wins...the publisher, the advertiser and the user. And if it took an image next to that link to draw the user's attention, I don't see what's wrong with that nor do I see it as trickery. But, whatever, if YPN doesn't want them there, that's their call. Slight drop in CTR without the images present, but I can live with it. The ads themselves are in good spots, they just looked better with images. I'm still waiting for a response to my initial inquiry about EXACTLY what was the violation. I'll let you know if they get back to me. Thanks for the help, boxer126
thats becuase some people have been authorized to have them on their sites if they met a certain standard
i would, but you'd be better off in the long run by getting it approved on your own site... put up a page that's not linked to anything, and send it in to 'em for approval... just leave off the t&a. the critters thread is for adsense, but there is a lot to learn there about images near ads: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=17104
we got a very similar email from yahoo 2 days ago. however, this was also included; As a result of this violation, we have suspended your participation in the beta program. If you wish to continue as a participant in the Yahoo! Publisher Network program, please ensure that your web site conforms with the policy described above. After making the changes, please reply to this email so that we may review your web site and update your account records to reflect your adherence with our Yahoo! Publisher Network Beta Terms and Conditions and Program Policies. Please be assured that we look forward to your continued participation in the program. If you have questions or concerns about the changes we?re asking for, please refer to the Yahoo! Publisher Network Program Policies: or contact us. we made the changes immediately and replied to the email stating our compliance. the only things we could notice were the Ads by Yahoo were difficult to read on the background and another site they listed used a Navigation Title above the ads. that was stupid, i know. we repaired everything by changing colors, putting borders and obviously removing the Navigation Title. its been 2 days, no ads are showing on my sites and we havnt heard back from yahoo in regards to our email reply. we called them today but the people that answered pulled up the account and said that they couldnt contact that department and to email them. we can still access our account and log in and run reports, etc. anyone else have similar experiences? if so, how long before they re-reviewed your site? the email doesnt say we are terminated or to come back after beta or anything regarding conversions. any thoughts would be appreciated.
OK, Here's the update from Yahoo! So, I am now compliant....YAY! And as for this quote below: Bud, we DO get it. Images ARE allowed near ads, they just have to be clearly separate. Thanks everyone for the help. I hope this image clarification they sent back clears things up around here. -boxer126
Meant to comment on this in the other post, but it took them about 4 days to re-visit the site and get back to me. Hang tight, they'll get back to you. -boxer126
