WTS Cashback Site - Custom PHP, Needs new love

This website, as you can see, is an affiliate based website that offers cash back to customers who sign up. It's quite simple, you sign up and purchase through affiliate links and in turn we pay you a portion of the money back.

The website is completely custom scripted with a fully integrated administrative section for complete management. Customer information and stores information is all stored in SQL databases accessible from the admin side of the website.

History:

The domain was registered in September of 2007 and officially launched as an html based website in November 2007. This was enormous amounts of work to keep it maintained with just html so the website was redone several months later in all php.

Off an on I would freshen up the website and load stores in from CJ/linkshare/etc...


Why Sell?

I simply don't have enough time anymore to take care of this website. I stopped all advertising from google/yahoo or other means about 4-5 months ago and just get traffic from blogs that posted about it or back links leading to it.

When I had time to advertise this website I could easily pick up a couple hundred extra bucks a month after paying out cash back to the consumers. There's still people who use it to do their purchases and get cash back and its very simply to track these things and process cash back through the admin section.

The most time consuming reason why I don't have time (makes sense right?) is keeping stores updating. The affiliate stores are changing cash back percents, terms, sales, coupons, etc.. all the time and it simply gets very time consuming. I've hired people before to simply maintain this part of it but just never worked out.

What you'll need.

Dedication, advertising means, a hosting server, mySQL database, and time.

The website is completely functional and has no bugs, errors etc. It just needs love from a new owner and it could be massively successful. It competes directly against ebates/fatwallet and other major competitors pricing on cash back.

Overview
Advertising Expenses: Minimal, targeted advertising always converted extremely well and expenses were usually less than $100 a month.
Profit: Consumers constantly reuse this so it's important to build strong ties with customer base and take care of all customers. Initially you lose a couple bucks gaining the customer but easily in less than 2 years i've pocketed a few thousand dollars.

Make reasonable offers as its ready to go and be transferred. If i'm unable to sell I would probably do a partnership with someone who has some spare time.

The website is for sale, it's a completely custom coded.

Wow you dedicated. SO are you really closing up shop?? I use rebate sites all the time for ebay in particular.....brings me back some savings for all my purchases. I even get my husband to go through airlines on rebate sites just to get back $10 before he purchases any for our limited vacations. I reckon you should keep going and hire more dedicated friends to help you run it. I have an ebay blog with lots of rebate sites like yours. If you had an affiliate program for your site I would bring you lots of customers.

 

I've heavily considered alternatives, the website is definitely a money maker and has a custom code and design to it, but if the price is right i'd let it go.

But let me know about your website, I may not truly find the right buyer to keep it running and stick it out and get some hired help.

 

I would definitely consider it, unfortunately I don't have the funds at the immediate time and have bills for the next 2 weeks. Should this ever become an opportunity again, I'd be willing to bid at around $60-$80 since nobody has made the minimal $100
