That's a really nice site and it has developed a very cool niche market for itself.

On the flip side, it does require constant (minimal) maintenance. Basically, I am worried that I would screw it up!

Additionally, the site is an ASP site and we're a Unix shop.

Overall, I made a mental bid and it was just below the current bid on Sitepoint.

For the right buyer, that site will be awesome.

The problem I am facing is that there are hardly any buyers who are interested in quality businesses any more. And when they are, they want to value a business by the 12x (12 times income) formula which ignores other factors like business goodwill, site rankings, tangible assets etc.

I thought I would get at least 2-3 qualified bidders for my software site. But I still have to get even one. I guess this is the age when people want quick money, and are just not willing to buy a site that requires any sort of work

We're in a buyers market, so I decided to become a buyer.

When I decided to get rid of nine web sites recently, I didn't even bother to create a thread here. I contacted private buyers in each relevant niche. Prices are so low that it's barely worth it to sell.

Really? I thought you had received an offer close to BIN?

Have you considered keeping the site? What's your main motivator for selling?

I have an offer close to the BIN but the member who has made this offer is new (hence not 'qualified') so I am less inclined to deal with him.

I will keep the site if I dont get BIN price. The reason I was selling this site is to pay off part of my home mortgage. I needed $7500 but I guess I'll make it up selling 2-3 other sites as well.
