Watch TV on PC software site making $110/m profit for sale

I am selling MyOnlineTV.net - a site which I built in Jan. It sells a 'Watch TV on PC' software and you get to keep 100% of all the sales. I currently sell the software for $7.99 but you can price it for whatever you want.

The site has made $110 in net profit in the last 30 days.

20 sales x 7.99 = $ 159.80
4 refunds and 1 cancellation x 7.99 = $ 39.95
Paypal fees $0.61/sale x 15 = $9.15

Net profit = $ 110.70

The site is currently on no. 1 in Live.com for the keyword 'internet tv' and on no. 2 for the keyword 'online tv'.

How old is the site? How much profit in the past 90 days? Why almost triple the number of uniques from January to February? And also, how are you advertising? Thanks.

I had first built a site on this domain in March 2007 selling another software for $49. But the price of that software was too high and I hardly made any sales so in January this year I changed the site and the software.

The new site started making sales only in January and I have given those sales details above. The reason for the sharp increase in the traffic is because of the rankings which the site got on MSN/Live.com. I have never advertised/promoted the site anywhere nor have I bought any links to get rankings.

How were the refunds handled. I mean buyers made charge back or they friendly emailed you asking for refund ?

Also is the software licensed/protected or anyone buying it can redistribute it ?

 

The refunds are requested by email and I don't hassle buyers - just process the refund.

The software cannot be resold/redistributed. It needs a serial no. to be activated.

It can be protected by many ways but I dont feel that's necessary. Maybe that's because I like to keep things simple

38 sales x 7.99 = $ 303.62
5 refunds and 1 cancellation x 7.99 = $ 47.94
Paypal fees $0.61/sale x 32 = $19.52

Net profit = $ 236.16 in 40 Days

That works out to a net profit of $177/month. At current BIN that comes to only 6.7 x months multiple - a steal for this money making machine.

As the site has sufficiently proven what it can do with organic search engine traffic, I will now be testing out PPC ads on the site to see how much it can make from PPC advertising. I will run this test from today till next Monday (1 week) and I will update this thread with results.

 

Please PM me monthly budget for backlink and all info about the seo work i need to do after saele - do not drop the positions in SE's... (or you use some PPC?)

 

There is no monthly budget needed to buy links. I did not use PPC on this site (until about 1 hour ago when I started the PPC test).

For SEO, I'd recommend, exchanging links with similar sites, blog posting, writing articles etc. All of this should be free and not paid.

 

Your refund rate is very high, is the software actually any good??, if 1 in 8 people are refunding, if people want to advertise by ppc, they are throwing 12.5% of their ppc down the drain

 

Most of the refunds are from people who dont want to install the additional software which is needed to run this - Microsoft .NET framework 2 - which is free. They feel it's too much for them to handle.

Then there are those who wish to watch XXX channels and we dont have adult channels available.

Thats the reason for the refunds mainly.
