im not sure, its like the forum time is set for a late delay to take load off the server. kinda like a waiting time between posts. im really not sure, but its bloody annoying lol. but the strange thing is that sometimes the pm is market read strait away. god knows, a forum this active needs to be running at %100 and a fast server :p no offense to digitalpoint, but its time to do something about this. even after you post sometimes it dont appear at the top of the threads, instead it shows you have not replied lol.

I agree. I personally take offense to the OP's statement that why would people sell a good site. When I first started making sites, I took on more than I could chew. I have a lot of interests and therefore dove into a lot of niches. I worked hard on creating unique, quality content in STRONG niches. Over time, I've learned I need to focus. And I had to evaluate where my passions lie. For instance, I sold a quality site in the aquarium niche. It had very little revenue and I was honest about that. I was honest in that it needed to be promoted. It was also on a good domain with age.

A smart buyer picked it up for under $200 and changed the site around a bit...same content, but added links, more monetization. I have no idea what he's making now, but it's at a PR2 and it's definetely worth more than what he paid me.

So, yeah he put a little work into it, but it was a great investment for him. He can resell it for more money and he's happy. I'm happy b/c even though I didn't make a lot, I got paid for my time. That was an honest sale and a smart buy.

If you aren't able to look at things from that perspective, then it's just a bad self-fulfilling prophecy and you will only see sites from people who lie and miss out on potential deals from people like me.

It is hard to buy genuine sites, why because they do not want to sell them as they have invested time & energy building a service/community. There are too many people flipping sites that are simply turnkey or a wordpress auto blog. I have bought many sites in the past some high 5 figures, but I have never sold anywhy because they make money.

Here are some of what I do
    • Avoid hyped sales letters
    • Check the whois record
    • Check the earnings screen dates are valid to the date the site is registered
    • Avoid sites that keep coming up for sale - flippers (iphone unlocking, credit card script, all these clickbank ready ebook sites etc
    • Check how long the seller has been on the forum read there posts
    • Search for the sellers username on other webmaster forums and read posts
    • Speak to others ask their opinion - look at some of the higher priced sites see who's asking questions, they may help/advise you on the site you are interested in
    • If it seems too good walk away - any site that needs no up keep but earns$$ why would you sell?
    • Avoid someone selling for a friend
    • Search for that domain with scam domain.com see what the reputation is
    • Avoid sites just created but now the person has no time - they had time but now it has all gone!

You need to beware that some people pick up expired domains and pick up the archived content to bring the site back. You can pay domaintools.com and check the history of the domain.

www.Shitepoint.com (Amazing they have that domain) is a good place but there are alot of scammers there too & shitepoint does nothing to protect or act fast when a scam is reported. They also allow the seller to delete messages that expose the seller as a scammer which is diabolical!

If you believe those income figures, you will feel sorry for yourself. Why can a crap site earn $xxx, but your site (with unique content, better ranking, higher PR and almost everything else is better ) only earns $xx. :)
