done. I asnwered to all questions. BTW are you gont to post the statistics later on ?? I'll be interested to check em out. Cheers, Venetsian.
@mitcharr: we are at 203 entries... while this is not bad, I think we see the dimishing returns in marketing already... the 2nd 100 entries cost me 3 times more than the first 100 - when it comes to spending on all thos post sig links and the 100s spend on the adword CPMs on top right but then, having to compete to big corporations like PayPerPost is a war I cannot fund or win
Ok, it cost you three times more, but what about time, how long did it take to get the first 100 compared to the 2nd 100? still, if you didnt market it, you will get less. why dont you make the prize $4000 worth, and use the 500 to market?
Hey Mitch. it's actually exactly three times longer for entry 101 thru 200 juding from my "yohoo 100 entries" post here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showpost.php?p=3088110&postcount=43 "still, if you didnt market it, you will get less. " 100% agreed - not disappointed or bitching about that, just pointed that observation out - and nobody said it was easy to get 3000 entries with a "convenience sample" (vs. direct poll via email or at least a prominent link from DP) "make the prize $4000 worth, and use the 500 to market?" good idea and I would do it if I had paid the prizes, but these were donated by http://www.text-link-ads.com http://www.presellpageman.com My understanding was that Shawn would donate some "visibility" here... need to ping him again for a link on that.
Well, I can see this is going as fast as you quite expected, so I have put it in my signature, free of charge. Hecky.
Hecky, that's a great move! THANKS, much appreciated and definately helps! It would be great if more people could help out! Some infos - I got the survey up since Thursday - I already spent $500 on Google CPM ads and - another $500 on 50k post sigs Even tough $1k ad spent and $4,5k in link prizes I got only 200 entries in 4 days.. 100 entries in the first day (with WAY LESS ads up) 200 entries in the following 3 days Anyway, that's a whopping $5 for a survey with 25 nice questions where people can win $4500 !! So my estimation is I would have to spend AT LEAST $15k for getting the 3000 responses I expect and I def. cannot afford that, PLUS I have a hard time believing I would get the 3000 in 2,5 weeks then that I need them Problem is, competing directly against PayPerPost and other bigs up there that fill the CPM-bids is not possible for me How can you others help? Can you donate a sig-link for 2 weeks?
Yeh, there is a limited amount of people you will get completing the survey just in this thread. which is why you must get it marketed, which it looks like you are so far doing successfuly edit, sorry, i would, but cannot get rid of my current sig links... you could maybe advertise this say in the general chat section or underground or even suggestions and feedback, as a lot of people go through those pages. but im not sure if you have this and another thread up, i think its against the rules,
@mitch - not sure on exact rules, but dupe content sucks anyway... I have another thread up here http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=326352 where we should continue the discussion on improving the markting of the survey, ok?
ok, seems good, good luck with it all, hopefully you get more responses, it sucks that you cannot advertise out of dp, as the survey is on dp
