I have nothing against Vista. I am running Home Premium on a AMD Turion 64 2.0GHz Dual Core laptop with 1GB RAM and it runs perfectly with not closing main features like visual effects or the Aero theme
I think that no one is against vista but vista is very high OS so for that their should be a faster computer which can support it either it will run slow which will make the work slow
Well, I AM against vista, not only for the reasons I've stated previously but for specfic mean spirited, deliberate, unnessary backwards compatiblity breaking behavior of Microsoft: See http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=981943 as a specific example. (It's a brand new "high end" machine, BTW ... AND I STILL HATE VISTA)
I use XP primarily because it is on the computers I use and I am not going to spend the money to buy an operating system.
because i simply dont like it and i hate it. And its a real no use for me. XP is all fine and good. 2 words, SameerHosting.com
well check out my page For Vista. Look for software for vista you can use for XP to make it look like Vista. Also, i'm FOR VISTA, not against it. I think the word your looking for is overrated, which I completely agree. I think if it wasn't for people complaining about its revised search box, non-compatible visualizations for graphic cards, and no 16/32 bit applications being able to run on a 64bit; then everyone would try it and probably like it.
No kidding, it's payback time for all the crap I gave the old IBM mainframe guys who didn't like PCs in 1988 ... don't worry kid, your day is coming (uless of course you die first! )
Technology's suppose to help people save time and money. Vista, compared to XP, doesn't do anything additional in those aspect.
All this vista vs xp discussion and many threads ongoing simply reminds me of the win95 vs win98 and many other OS switchs, most people dont like change and dont have go enough hardware to handle the new OS so are almost always against it, but as we see through a short computer history, Microsoft will continue to come out with new OS that require better computers to handle them, if they didnt why would we need to buy new computers - same goes for software, it is often the software that drives the purchase of new hardware so you can bet that the hardware companys have invested in the software companies and encourage the need for better computers and vice versa
I think this is a decision for everyone to decide by themselves. If it were my opinion, Vista is a OS w/training wheels. Programmers/Developers should use XP.
Wow a 521 days old thread, anyway I'm not against vista but I like using XP because it is very good for now and I can't find any reason to change my window, Vista is a very good Windows but it takes a lot of resources in your system, like me I need more resources because I am a heavy gamer and I like my games being run in a smooth graphics.
