No PR update for my new site.
But when checked with one of my old website which has a PR3.
Two of the DCs show different result.
    64.233.171.101 - PR0
    72.14.203.101 - PR2

    Yes I do.

There's a mod on a mission. Someone has merged several "PR update" threads together and didn't take into consideration the age of the threads.

To me, 9 pages for any thread is a bit too much to read.

This subject probably needs a separate forum category, just so information gets a better shape. Reading through a thread that started about PR updates that were happening ages ago should have ended together with that update. Then a new thread about a new PR update, and so on. Information would just look more organised, and our lives would become easier to live, don't you think :)

Well, generally people wont read the previous threads if they are over two pages long.... lol

It's not the number of pages that's the problem. I am subscribed to some threads that easily go 10 times this - that are informative, but this is nearly 2 years old! I think that it might need to be closed down and target the comments to a fresher thread.

I think most of us will applaud that decision. The only thing I would have added is a title change - to something like "Just another pointless PR update thread - please ignore and please do NOT post here".

No. What would make our lives easier would be a ban on "PR is updating!" or "When is the next PR update?" threads. If it were a separate forum, it should at least be aptly titled: "Threads no one should read". And it should be private to save DP the embarassment of having those pages indexed.

Or, just close it down. And ban anyone who tries to start another one. :)

Oh, I just did a few moment ago, here
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=277528

Trying to find as much useful information as possible from a thread, and when it becomes too long and covering a very long period of time, I feel like in need of too much coffee before I get what I need :)

I see your point though, minstrel. However, no matter what info we need, and there will always be people discussing it, I'd vote for a strategy of autoclosing threads older than X period of time, to avoid dealing with irrelevant discussions..

Another thread that gives me hassle is the godaddy coupons one, which has become as big as China, and you can hardly gather a small bunch of codes off it..

I do not know why people are so much obsessed with PR? PR does nothing to a site?

It does not indicate how good a site is and how many visitors a site have!

In short PageRank is a “vote”, by all the other pages on the Web, about how important a page is. Therefore, pr is important.

Anyway, it does not indicate the web traffic of a site. The higher pr of a site, the higher % spiders will stay

Your signature is a good keyword to that :)
Google had a brilliant idea to start the PR competition. Indeed, it doesn't mean much to a website, and I've said before, appart from webmaster related websites where PR has a word to say, other online businesses don't pay attention to it. Most don't even know about a "PageRank". It's me and you who have the PR addon installed on our browsers to check it. If not for that, we would not know it's there.

Yet, things like "$5 for a PR5 link" attract attention, and as long as it stays true, PR will maintain it's importance, for that sole reason.

Yeah, PR can also be treated as a "vote". But we can actually "buy" this vote nowadays, can't we?

When the hell is the next PageRank update?

I don't even remember when the last one is...seems like so long ago. If there was a last one within the past 3 months, I do not remember it, and I can definately say that it did not update any PageRank for any of my sites.

I've been patient. I've been quiet. And I've been waiting.
When is the next PageRank update?

    I'm hoping for a 10!
    Well...at least a 5.

    Thanks.

People are now kinda used to wait for PR updates 3+ months, and thus we see less of the PR update threads. :). But everytime a thread like this is started, we all see lots of people viewing the thread....
