What future do you see in the cookie based affiliate programs?
To me it is great for advertisers, but with the ever improving antispyware software out there I think publishers will shy away at some point.

Ive been concerned about cookie based tracking for a long time and have blogged about the various related issues several times. Scroll down for lots of different articles, studies and proposed solutions.

I don't see another tracking solution coming any time soon however. Since only a % of cookies are deleted or targeted I just think the best solution for affiliates right now is to market harder and smarter and increase your efforts.

Every industry has it's challenges. If you were a farmer it would be a drought or flood or infect infestation killing off part of your crop. The survivors find a way over or around challenges and succeed. :)

I think template based, localy installed tracking systems will be the future.

The buyer wouldn't need to go to the real seller's website, the purchase will be done on the publisher's web site. In that way only the publisher gets the best.

The customer will be coming again to buy from the publisher's site.

Exactly the way I want to see it being done before I get into affiliate marketing.

Just seems like too much time and effort to leave your commissions up to chance.

sales done on the publishers website would be best anyway. You subtract the whole "clickthrough" barrier

I am sure there will be a lot of competition to get us on board, CJ will either change or lose a lot of business.
