    Questions.

What Do You Look For From A Social Network?

What tools would like to see from a social network?

Which is the best social network and in very specific terms, why?

Which features do you think are absolutely brilliant from the present social networks? Please tell us about them.

Or, if you have an amazing feature in mind, would you like to give the community of DP'ers here, an inkling of your idea, for others to give their feedback and comments upon?

    Many thanks!

All I care is that I can post links to my site (preferably dofollow) and people there will actually click the links and visit my site.

Oh, and I don't like the sites that say you have to use your real name.

Do follow links will make or break a forum; I've seen it happen when admins changed from do follow to no follow.

It will turn any forum into a ghost town.

However, equally important is the ability for me to be able to both add and glean value. If I can offer something it gives me leverage in the forum, and if I can learn something then it will keep me coming back.

When a forum is set up properly it rewards those who have something to offer, so eagles will come and nest. This will cause a trickle down effect that attracts serious and competent networkers and encourages them to make a home there.

Ease of use is very important. For example, while Digg is very popular, to submit an article sometimes takes too long. You have to do like 7 long and slow steps if you include digging to your friends, and 2 seperate word verifications. And you have to write an original title/description. Blech!
