Ok Guys, I know this question has been asked millions of times, but all I hear when it is asked is Search for this topic, or just hang on and work at it. But what methods/strategies, techniques, tips have you guys used and advice to increase traffic? Ed
For sure. Dont steal content. Write your own and that alone is unique content that should eventually get picked up by a SE also write articles, post at free classified sites etc...

Or make new page every day (at list one week or one month) Remember content is king for more imformation about search engine optimize click here! add your site on the search engine. StumbleUpon drive very good traffic if your content is great. My blog's traffic shoot from 100+ to 1800+ in a day, and it slows down now to 500+. I'm worrying now that my bandwidth will be exceeded.
Sticking at it and working hard is important but you also need to work smart. So invest a bit of your time in reading up on lots on topics of SEO and link building, AdSense optimisation and anything that will generally improve your knowledge about the way the web works. My tips and strategies: Find a topic your interested in and knowledgeable in (or at least are willing to get knowledgeable in) and then head to the good old DP keyword suggestion tool - http://www.digitalpoint.com/tools/suggestion/ - then plug in the main keyword for your site then see what other people are searching for when it comes to that topic. Then start writing good informative content on those keyword phrases. Then once you have loads of good content (20 - 50 good quality original articles) then start building a few links to your site. Hit up some directories and build some link exchanges and read up on other ways of building links to your site - look into topics like link baiting. Then you will start to see some traffic from search engines, realise what terms your site is coming up in the SERPs for and then either rework your articles a little bit for those terms or create completely new articles about those terms. Rinse. Wash. Repeat. Work smart and work hard and it will come. And remember the internet is rapidly changing and new means of marketing are popping up everyday not to mention the search engines are dynamic creatures, so you need to expand your knowledge all the time. Why do you think people working SEO and marketing for 5 - 10 years are still hanging around here? So if your not currently working hard at getting smart then your not working smart or hard. Good luck.
Not that the tips above aren't good idea's, they just aren't complete. It works the same with any market, not just online. First you have to do research into what people are LOOKING for, not just what you want to put on your website. Overture, Google, and MSN all have great tools for estimating search engine traffic for various keywords. So think about your sites theme, and see who else is ranking for that theme (those keywords). See what other related keywords exist for that theme. Then write content that has more density then those other guys. Write content that has keywords that are searched for, but the top ranking websites don't have high PR / In bound links. Once you know what people are searching for and who your competition is, all you have to do is write content to fit the need. Above ALL ELSE: Write content that is useful. People will eventually link to you just because they found it useful and they want to share it with the world. That's how the game is played. [edit] Had to beat me to it, didn't ya Burta [/edit]
Keep repeating with fresh conect, submit site to directory, exchange link will definate increase page rank in search engine and drive up traffic. But it's not happen overnight. Keep doing it, one day you will definate succeed!
FRESH CONTENT and NEW LINKS!! if you continue to get those and have usefull information traffic will come... also try connecting and see if you can do cross promoting with other similar sites.
LOL there must have been only seconds in it. But I agree with you. Supply content that is desired by search engine users. Create better SEOed content than current competition. Build some links as well as hopefully get a bit of organic linking to your good quality content. Then just keep repeating. That's the very basics of it. But I also forgot to mention that the thing about anything in life when it comes to making money is the first thing you need to do is provide "value". When you provide your users with "valuable" content then they will click your advertising, come back to read more, and spread the word so that other people out there can take advantage of the "valuable" content you are giving away.
content, links, content, links, content, links. do it over and over again. different sites, different niches. do this 8 hours a day for a year and you should have enough traffic to be making you more than you did during your dayjob. and at that point the great thing is, you continue to make money even without working on your sites almost at all. that's the old search engine traffic route. it worked, it still works, but there are other ways. read about viral marketing. read as much about it as you can find. create viral content and you don't even need the search engines-- or the link building campaigns. traffic will come freely, as will links.
http : // inventory.overture.com just put in a keyword and see how many searches were done the previous month
You download a toolbar for your browser (others do the same). People suggest new sites by clicking a button and by clicking another button you can get suggested links in your preffered categories randomly.. And one of them can be yours if you/others suggest your site's link. But if you want the traffic for adsense then be careful, in another thread it is mentioned that the users of stumbleupon are tech guys and dont click the ads much!
*Update your website when ever possible *Do some directory submissions *Increase number of backlinks with good PRs *Get listed in search Engines
