aha this could be one of them! but be honest have you written a thread that fell flat, with like 0 replies or just 1 or 2. i have written many like this unfortunately, though happily i am a prolific writer so i have also have a few successes. so what was the worst ever thread you submitted?
I'd few and one of my recent one about Mozilla Thunderbird problem had not even one reply (I was expecting few :S).
Everyone here has had one boring thread in the past DO not write a thread with the intention of making it popular. If it has good information, it will automatically become popular. I'd take a thread with few good replies over a thread with hundred one liners any day......
That's not always true. DP is such a fast forum that even good threads get buried quickly. Just today I came across this thread. Wonderful information and yet no replies: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=337705
here's the thing, instead of just looking at recent threads, do as another forum i have been frequenting just did, go back and select those you consider to be the most interesting that didn't get much of a showing and reply to it so that it gets a second chance. sometimes a topical story or just one that is really silly but addictive can bury a really good one.
yeah ive written a few of them, but the key here is in getting a good and catchy title. with forums all you have to go on is the title of the thread, if it looks boring nobody is going to click on it to read further, fi you had a catchy title, people normally will click to read further, and then hopefully will contribute.
I've had my fair share, a few of my threads attempting to sell something have not done as well as I had hoped. Overall though, I always get at least a handfull of reviews.
You can be sure that if you write a thread making critic of DP it will fall flat because the mod GuyFromChicago will use censorship and close the thread.
