Your logic is screwed. You're putting your opinion up against facts. In my opinion, the earth is flat.
I agree. Let's all calm down But dishing out red rep for such little things is pretty weak. Especially in GC.
Oh c'mon, do you really think I'm that stupid? My opinion has even more facts that yours, just Google it. And thanks for da greys noobies!
Freedom of Speech is one thing, spreading FUD another. Spiced up with a tiny bit of racism makes it even worse.
Um... From the DP Reputation FAQ: Now, as appreciation for me enlightening you, please be the first actual female to vote for me here! (meat eating females welcome too!!!) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=389653 -Michael
I have to agree with almost everyone on this thread... Katy, get your facts straight before you start trashing a thread with your "opinions." I've been a vegetarian for almost six years (not vegan, although I'll probably make the switch sooner or later.) I am certainly not weak OR nutrient-deficient, but that's because I know what I'm doing. Some people end up getting sick because they stop eating meat, but don't replace it with anything else. (And I just love "vegetarians" who don't eat vegetables! WTF?) Congratulations on thinking of becoming a vegetarian.
Good luck with your vegetarian diet, Romlin. Just watch out the signs your body sending out to you. I've tried near vegan diet and my body didn't like it. I started it as my cholesterol level was too high for my body weight and my GP advised me to be on the diet to lower my cholesterol leve. I cut down the meats, dairy products (even I LOVE the cheese and was eating so much cheese before the diet) and all those fattening foods and stick to my diet over a month and a half. During this time, I felt very weak and had no energy. I wasn't motivated to do anything and was getting thinner and thinner even I was eating a lot. I tried to eat more beans to get my protein but didn't really work... Mind you, my cholesterol level had went down though I had to stop this diet as I just didn't feel right and I didn't like the no-energy feeling. Once I started to eat meat and dairy products I started to feel good again. I am now a little more careful about the amount I eat these type of food though. I just figured out that vegan diet might not be for everyone and we all need to listen to our body talking to us. All the best.
Congrats on going veg! http://www.veggieboards.com is a great forum if you're interested in communicating with other vegetarians.
As I know it was not confirmed by far that vegan or vegetarian food would harm an otherwise healthy person. For vegans who don't eat eggs and milk, it is important to get enough vitamine B12 which is only present in meat, eags and milk and not in any plant food. Vitamine B12 is often added to fruit juices though. There is a reserve of vit B12 in human body which should suffice for some years though. Lack of vit B12 leads to pernicious anemia. Vit B12 blood level is the only laboratory test a vegan should worry about. There are many diets proclaimed as "the only appropriate", "most healthy" etc. If you feel free, you should choose a diet according to "what good it can bring into your life" and not according to some ideology.
