The purpose of Chrome...

What are the advantages of Chrome?

While the purpose of Firefox is to be the best free browser on the web, I didn't understand the purpose of Chrome.

Google declared "Chrome is the browser of the future".

I've checked it out and read about it - very nice browser, slightly faster than firefox but nothing special. IMO, this browser is too minimalist.

I really believe the major purpose of Chrome browser is to collect internet data from users in order to improve SERP. That's it.

Actually - this is a beta, so we should wait a little when plugs will be developed. Btw IMHO it's much faster than FF.

I think Chrome is built only to gather more information about surfers.
To do this, Google will have to build the best browser, and with the resources they have, nothing can stop them.
Personally I will wait a few months to see how they use the new information gathered.

I agree, I have found Chrome to be quite rapid! but - I do wonder about its purpose.... I believe its been released ahead of schedule to beat IE 8 to the punchline... IE 8 has an "opt out" option for tracking cookies built in, which in turn will effect Googles tracking cookies used to aid SERP.
