Thanks so much for your ideas. I have just set up a proxy website but don't know what to do next to promote it.I will be very glad to discuss with you.
My proxy ebook has now been released to anyone interested, check my signature Feel free to ask my any proxy questions in that thread as well
You can download my free proxy eBook if you would like as i said its free and rather in depth. The eBook may be able to help you with monetizing and promoting your proxy site.
This is a good idea. Thanks. Do you have a list of countries that waste resources without generating any income? I'd appreciate if you would share it with me.
China, Iran, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates sometimes India can be the most important , i don't think it's a standard list, Asia in general is not converting good and waste the bandwidth and the CPU resources. I know some friends from here will not agree 100 % with me
I have a quick question. I havn't been active in this proxyscene lately and i'm gonna start to try make som templates. So my question is what proxy application is most used now a days? Is it still Zelune, PHPproxy and CGI proxy?
PhProxy and Glype are most used, zelune is recoded at http://zelune.com so i don't think this version is very popular also cgi proxy is not allowed by shared hosts , most of proxy owners are not running cgi , this is my opinion
There's zelune.net as well. Zelune.net and Zelune.com scripts are different and are owned by different owners previously. From what I last heard the owner of Zelune.net bought over Zelune.com recently few months back. The previous developer of zelune.com is a very strong developer however he tends to lose interest after developing the proxy script script each time and does no more updates so it's not ver wise to use zelune.com. Like what newzone said, Phproxy and Glype are still the most commonly used though phproxy is very outdated now.
Just released a free article on digitalpoint forums for people with tips on how to deal with the traffic slump you are all likely to experience, hope it helps...just giving something back http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=901440
I read his thread selling it, summary, he sold them the sites to make most of the money another crap ebook on the internet. Feel sorry for people who pay for this crap.
Default apache and its php setup is far from ideal for hosting sites like this. You should consider trying lighttpd, i have not looked back since i made the move. I have some high traffic sites and i also have 2gb of ram and zero problems. CPU is the limiter in my case, and i have a quad core setup. If your server is actually going offline every 20mins there is some really huge issues, perhaps hardware fault if you have to reboot to make it come back. (faulty ram can cause this)
Here is the site that generates the ranges of IP addresses for the selected countries. It is very useful for those who want to block specific countries using .htaccess.
