Hello, I"m new to this forum and found it in my research of a piece of marketing software.

I'll get right to the point. I'm at wits end. I need to find a way to generate between $500 and $1000 per month to support my family. (my wife and 21 month old daughter). I have little to no money to "invest" and things I've been trying just don't work or supply a ROI (time and or money) that just isn't worth it. I need to be able to do, whatever it is, from home in the evenings and on the weekends. I know there is no quick answer, but I need some help, this not to make "extra income" this is to pay "real life" bills (rent, utilities, etc.)

If there are any suggestions, I'd REALLY appreciate it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.

spending your time to build and market a website could generate that money, but you wouldn't realize the profit for quite a long time.

you could probably write articles and create content for webmasters though..you would have to work pretty hard and write a lot to get $500+/month, but it's definitely possible.

Don't expect making money online to be easy like the infomercials say it is

If you have enough time to do surveys, you could probably make $100 - $200 a month. I know that's not enough for what you need, but every little bit helps, right? I have heard of people making more than that with surveys, but I wouldn't count on any more than that.

Just be careful not to get involved with a scam where they require money up front.

If I really really needed $1000 dollars NOW to support my wife and daughter, I'd turn the computer, off, and I'd go out and clean cars or windows , or mow lawns.

It's possible if you have some skills to offer.

Can you design, code or have good usage of the English language? Some people can write incredibly well and those types 'can be' in demand, if you market yourself correctly. Even just on these forums.

    Good luck.

Well for starters, i agree with Dusty that you need to have some skillset that would compliment a webmaster

You can earn depending on the skills you have

Generating $500 to $1000 a month on any type of consistent basis as an online marketer eludes the great majority of people who venture into this venue....estimates are 95-98% never make a dime. Just the learning curve in today's glutted online world is overwhelming...and there are NO shortcuts to success....no matter what you read, see or hear about online marketing. This is only touted by people who are trying to take your money. If you want to be one of the few who accomplish a modicum of success, you will need time, effort AND money. You can go the "free route", but that lessens your chances and increases your time until possible success. If you need the money now, you would be much better off doing something that is "a sure thing"...a part time job with a guaranteed weekly income. I don't mean to discouarge you, or throw water on your dreams, but I am not going to blow smoke up your arse and tell you "go for it"!

Hope you are able to cover your bills no matter what you decide.

I understand that there is no quick way to do this. Like anything else it takes time to do, but I just need be doing something that will make the time I put in worth while, if you know what I mean.

That is what I'm considering, but so far, my experience has been mixed. Either you need to spend a fortune (which I don't have) on Adwords or you spend 12 hours a day doing free marketing strategies, for what I have found to be results that don't seem to we worth the time. I just keep chipping away at it and maybe it will show some decent return eventually...
    Thanks.

that's a great idea, but I have a full time job I work 10 hours per day. Maybe its possible to wash cars on the weekend and make $500, but I have to be a father sometimes too...

It's a bit of a quandary at times.

I am not a 'master' of the English language, so article writing and such would be difficult for me, but I am self taught with HTML and I have Microsoft FrontPage, which I've become fairly proficient at manipulating, I just don't know if my skills are up to par to call my self a "designer"
Do you think that's a doable route for someone that is self taught and learns mainly by trial and error with this kind of stuff?

Web design is actually something I'd love to do.

No, I am well aware of the scams and BS out there, I've seem most of it and fallen for a few of them in the past, so you aren't saying anything I don't already know. I'm just trying to figure out a way to be able to work on something when I can (nights and weekends) with out my daughter growing up no knowing why I"m never around...

They grow up so fast and I don't want to regret missing it.

You mentioned affiliate marketing. I would suggest you download...if you haven't done so already....the "bible" of affiliate marketing training/preparation...and, the best part is it is free. It is an ebook by Ken Evoy (SiteSell fame) called "Affiliate Masters Course". You can get a free copy here: http://www.twopercentclub.com/index.php?page=free_tools. While at the URL, make sure you also download "Make Your Content Presell". This is a great ebook no matter what internet marketing area you decide to follow. This ebook is also free.

    Hope you find these helpful.

Cool, I'll do that right now. Its good to see there are people that just want to help others and not just make a quick buck. Thanks for the advice. If I decide to continue that path, I just may have to work in the "Free" zone until I can afford actual advertising.

    Thanks again.

I recommend you get a job in the real world for a bit to earn some capital for your online ventures. A few hundred dollars can get the ball rolling if you want to do web development.

Invest a little money in buying domain names, develop a blog or directory on those names.. market and promote them like mad to get visitors coming in and possibly some sales. Then sell the sites for a few hundred bucks.. rinse and repeat.

Okay, you said you work 10 hours per day already - and would want to find work to be done in evenings and on the weekends.

I think that's a very bad route to take - and will eventually lead to lots of stress and perhaps even to burnout.

Instead... have you considered finding alternative job where you could work 8 hours per day, and earn $500-1000 more per month. Depending where you live it might not be possible, but I'd still try to keep my eyes open for opportunities - check magazines, ads... ask friends who could perhaps know some job opportunities. You never know if it might actually catch.

Also, I bet you have considered cutting down expenses - but I'd still like to remind about that. Selling television for example (saves your time, energy, and it's full of crap anyway :))? Switching car to a bicycle or walking (this can wield tremendous savings in repairs, gas, insurances etc.). If you guys live in a house, then consider swithching to a smaller place (if possible). Just google for "frugal living" or something, and you'll find plenty of tips on how to save money.

If you are doing a 50-hour workweek already, then I'm bit afraid that getting in the Internet income by doing writing and stuff like that might not be a good long-term solution... it wouldn't perhaps help to get much money, yet it could stress the whole family.

Anyway, good luck and hopefully you find a solution to your situation.

    Most sensible suggestion.

If money is so important, get a job that pays you. Online business doesn't happen over night.

No, I'm not trying to discourage you, but giving you the right advice, which you should take seriously.

Well not everyone makes $1000 / month in this forum. Those who make it, did not learn how to make it over night. They put in blood and sweat to reach that state. If you expect them to spend time teaching you in value for nothing, most likely no one would go for it. And more over no one will teach you, coz you'll be their competition in the near future.

From the look of it, you don't seem to have a lot of money to spend on costly mentor programs. So, that option is ruled out. If you have, then my advice - just put the cash to the right coaching program. Again, for you to be successful, you need to slog there too :). No easy way.

If you need instant cash right now :
1> Go to buy and sell forum and do some forum posting job. That's something definite you'll find. Extremely low cost job, but you are earning something than nothing right ?
2> You have decent english. Write some sample articles and sell your self. Charge nominally and over deliver. This is a sure fire formula to be successful.

If you want cash on long term:
1> Get a blog for yourself and host it. If you can't afford 'em, get a free blog.
2> Write an article a day. Post it. Ping some effective blog search engines. Social book mark it.
3> Write articles and submit atleast one to some of the high PR article directories every week.

Do this for a month and you'll see some money rolling in. If you don't make any money at all, even after following this, come back to me, with the proof of what you have done in a month. I'll teach you step-by-step, how to make a $1 day. Yes I'll teach you how to make a $1 day, and you can replicate to how much ever you, but putting in so much of extra effort. Fair enough ?

Now get to work. And turn up, till you actually do some work. Remember, come back to me if you dun make any money at all from the processes I've listed.

    All Success,
    ~G

Thank you all for your advice.
    I take eveyone's words seriously.
I am not looking for a get rich quick thing. I know it takes work and time, I'm just trying reduce the amount of "trial and error" requried.
