    Just noticed that.. What happened?

This is probably a great step and may improve the overall quality of the forum, but.. I'm back to just one green bloob :(

    Good stuff Shawn,

I'd also like to see the post count in GC be removed - I'd like to get back below the 5k mark...

Yes, that was my impression also. Are you going to show us your algorythm?:)

Anyway, I agree with your move, the only thing I don't appreciate as much as others is the change being applied retrospectively, that, to be honest pisses me off as much as rules and laws anywhere, not just here.

I lost my first bright green thing and a quite a few others, but nevermind, after all I have to admit I was spending way too much time in GC. Having fun is great, wasting it when you have much else to do isn't. I'll take the opportunity to try and stick to the technical forums. And I invite all the other GC lovers to do the same!:)

    For my many fans:
I was around 35th-40th for reputation, I am down to 293rd, but remember, it's still me!

I think this is a fantastic move for the forum and all that needs done now is the post count removed for those posts in the general chat section. ;)

This can only be good for the quality of the posts at Digital Point. I've been starting to have to wait on responses in the programming section but now I think it will start going back to the normal 5 second wait before someone with the knowledge gives you the answer lol

    Hi Weirfire, you're right.

Yeah, too much waste of time while hanging out in General Chat.

From now on, less chat more work!:)

Nah I like the General Chat section. I can go on General Chat and it's like my staff room where I take a coffee and a break. Working at home means you have no work social life.

I'm looking at premises tomorrow though so if it's not too expensive then I can start have you all come to my office for meetings. ;)

Can we rep each other there effectively or does it count very little (that is buy each other a large or small drink?)

    :)

I just spent too much time in GC, that's all. I don't work from home usually, but it's not that busy here.:)

    Thanks Shawn,

That will definitely reduce some noise here. But still the thread hijackers will get rep.

I too work from home - left the corporate world a few years ago to work full-time for myself .... DP is a nice little support group for social contact and intelligent adult conversation ... well, mostly.

What do you do to interact with other human beings outside the house? If I dont get out at least once in the week I start to get a bit depressed lol.

    Join a club.
    Really...

I moved job and house because of the lack of human contact...

Gyms are a good place to meet people (And if you weren't married I'd also mention it's a good place to meet women) ;)

Funny you should mention that SEbasic, I was just getting ready to respond to Weirfire and going to the gym was going to be one of the things I listed. I prefer to go in the early morning hours while the aerobics classes are going on :D

I do still have meetings throughout the week with clients and such so I still have interaction, so I'm not a total hermit yet. I really don't miss the hussel and bussel of puting on a suit and playing in the corporate world though - not a bit.

Right now, I have a political campaign website that I'm acting as the project lead on with a few business partners, and I'm working with the Representatives staff constantly now .... someday's I think it too much and I'm glad I work from home ;)

I actually find that working from home is really tough on the work hours. I suppose I'm still at the stage where I'm establishing the business and perhaps I'll be able to ease off a bit once I start making money on my own projects but sometimes I think that it would be better working a 9-5 job.

I normally get out to church on a Sunday and a mid-week meeting on a Wednesday. We make a point of going out on a Saturday whether it's just going to the shops for a coffee or a run in the car along the coast.

At the moment apart from that there's not much else we have time for or can afford to do.
