Reporting abuse? Nothing but the run around!

Pick a category, any category, click the submit report abuse/spam link.

    See where it takes ya!

First they disable the ability to contact editors, now you can't report abuse?

They will not give you the AOL contact information, I know this, I have tried.

What's going on here? Are they hiding something? My guess is that its not the staff, the staff of AOL likely is left in the dark, or stopped caring years ago. They have a broken site, and should remove themselves from their own directory!

Is it really too much to ask to actually have official communication?

So you're thinking the internal server error is deliberate?

Abuse is disabled for at least 4 years now.

When Bozos at DMOZ deleted AMRAY Web Directory, I tried to open abuse claim,
wasted time to write it but couldn't submit because function wouldn't work.

Well, what can you expect from Anti-Internet Community Organization.

    Good topic, Greens given :)

The report abuse/spam links were disabled during the recent failed upgrade attempt but I believe they're supposed to be working again now. Reported.

Thanks for doing the report, Q, sorry it failed. We appreciate people from outside helping us to try and improve the directory.

Why not? They seem to think that a site being down for a reboot constitutes it worthy of enough to be removed... so if a site has an ongoing error for over a YEAR, then why would it be accidental... they know of the trouble.

The proxy error has been happening for a year and a half: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1243598&highlight=proxy+error

If they didn't want it there, one would think AOL could fix it... right? I mean it worked before, what ever change was made, un-do it. It's not rocket science.

Read it, it says it should be up 4 days ago. So again, it's just smoke & mirrors to mask the true purpose... to further stop communication.

Well, I tried on the inside and was called a no good dirty digital point troll. When I see abuse or what seems to be abuse I often use the system, as that is what many editors tell me to do. Is it a bad thing that I am trying to help? It would seem that way, as there now is NO method of contact between the end user and the ODP. What are you doing to make it a better place other then trolling digital point?

As I said we are glad when members of the public draw things to our attention and as I said thanks for that. Hopefully Jim is right and the problem is now fixed.

Erm, I didn't say the problem is fixed; I said there's a problem and that I'd reported it.

Staff are aware but haven't yet fixed it.
