I have emailed Google in the past over how they deal with their directory (they have an updated search, but the listings are two years old) but I’ve never bothered looking into the netscape/AOL side of it because I’ve never really cared. Now I care though… so would anyone happen to have the proper information for contacting the higher officials involved with this project. And I’m referring to actual paid staff, not the volunteer admin (I want to go to the top). I feel/fear simply submitting a complaint to DMOZ itself will only fall upon deaf ears. I’d also enjoy any other contact information you may have from the other larger Clone Sites based off if the ODP. Like Alexa…who I've not bothered looking at yet, at least for this. The way I see it, sitting around complaining that DMOZ IS DEAD or whatever is doing next to nothing. If I want my voice heard, I need to start whispering into the correct ears, otherwise I’m just wasting my time. Two last things… Will you email these people too? (The more people shouting in the correct direction, the louder our voices will seem.) What are the major complaints about DMOZ? (So I, and others can properly give a more comprehensive report).
Let the people from DMOZ do it if they think it's going to help. I personally think it won't. Nothing will help. They are slowly being "Zealed" out of existence. You know that's true when they pick out a condescending rear guarde fanatic like bldarter to be an admin. And if robjones ever makes it ro admin... it will never have been so clear and transparent that AOL wants the complete moral anihilation of the ODP. There exists a great number of causes that are more worthy of your time.
Hey Q i have been trying to get hold of someone from aol actually incharge or maybe dmoz, cause the feedback or anything u submit on dmoz itself probably goes straight to some evil meta and never goes where it should actually go. So, if u find some email that actually works do let me know too...
It seems getting a hold of cooperations is like pulling teeth, for instance... I checked the link, and it just gives articles to them...though I looked around and found an applicable mailing address that I can send a written letter to. Though, I think it's Kevin Conroy that is in charge of things...I'll also be trying to contact Jon Werther as he is in charge of "inovation" *smirk*
