Probably a newbie question...

I've just signed upto CJ and found an advertiser in my niche. I've applied for them and got accepted instantly so I am ready to start.

Lets say I have a site in the home & garden niche, I have different categories on my site at the moment giving information out on each variation of the product.

Say if my site was on sheds for arguments sake. I have a page on each type I can think of, wooden sheds, metal sheds, etc, etc.

The company I have applied for in CJ has very similar categories on their website, how do I take the URL from their "wooden sheds" page and make it into an affiliate link so I can put "Buy wooden sheds now" or something on my wooden sheds page so they get directed to the relevant items they want.

Any feedback appreciated and sorry if it is simple answer I just can't seem to find it on CJ.

    I'm no CJ guru, but...

I believe this is called an "Advanced Link" and is only supported by some advertisers.

Ah cheers for that, I think I did see that in the link options for my advertiser. I'll look into it when I get chance.

    Thanks

Sorry to double post but I can't edit my previous one.

I found the advance link but it seems to generate a search box that they can use from my site so I'm not sure how to edit that to maker it goto a specific url in their website.

I've already found the advertiser I plan on using I just want to make it so I can link from my pages to specific pages/categories of their site.

You can go to get links and then select "product" from the frop down and then enter a product name, if the merchant has a product feed in there you should be able to drop the traffic right to that page..

Cheers for that, it's not so much 1 product I want to link to. I would like to link to the relevant category so that they can browse through it and buy one.

That's a special type of Advanced Link called an Interactive Link.

    Advanced Link - Interactive Links
A type of Advanced Link, an interactive link is an HTML link that accepts up to 32,000 English-based characters and enables user interaction beyond a simple click. Search boxes and drop-down list boxes are examples of interactive links. When the advertiser changes the destination for interactive links, you must manually update your code to reflect the change and enable proper tracking. Advertisers are advised to notify publishers of destination changes, but in some cases it may be necessary to actively verify your links within your CJ Account Manager.

Unless I'm mistaken, that's not what you are looking for. I believe that you are just looking for a "normal" advanced link.

I've copy and pasted my reply from another thread, hope it helps :)
    ---

If you look under 'text links', most advertisers have a generic link that will allow you to specify a destination url. Just look for a text link that says "Advertiser allows URL redirects for this link.".

    No probs :)
There's a crap load of info in the CJ forum if you have a hunt around. I think it's time somebody got around to putting a sticky/FAQ together. I'm just hoping it doesn't have to be me :p

Yea I agree, I wouldn't mind doing it to be honest if I get the time. You CJ gurus may of forgot what essentials are not very clar when you first begin :p

Leave it with me and I will attempt to put together a decent post. If you have any suggestions on what to include feel free to reply here or pm me and I'll make sure they get included.
