Do Other CJ Advertisers Have a "Flex Tool" like EBay? A little frustrated here...

I've made a deal/coupon site, but I can't seem to figure out how the other deal/coupon sites get their specific product links?

Check this out. I wanted to link to an 8GB USB Flash Drive at SuperMediaStore.com, because I noticed at another site that it was posted for $32.

Okay, so I went to my CJ account, found SuperMediaStore, and typed in "8GB USB Flash Drive" and hit search. The results made me want to cry.

    I took a screenshot here: http://img214.imageshack.us/img214/4488/outdatedproductvl8.gif

$509!? What? Last updated in 2005? Come on CJ...we're almost on 2008 now...(oh, and the "product destination" link just took me to the homepage, not to any product)

It's ridiculous?? I've been having problems trying to link to specific problems at plenty of CJ Advertisers. How do other people do it? I know there has to be a way, so can someone please share this big secret? Is there some sort of "flex destination tool" for other advertisers that most CJ users don't know about?

I would really appreciate some insight on how to link to specific products, updated, recent (we're in 2007-08 by the way) products, with CJ advertisers.

I can only seem to do it with EBay (and Amazon, which is not CJ).

Thanks a lot for your time.

If you look under 'text links', most advertisers have a generic link that will allow you to specify a destination url. Just look for a text link that says "Advertiser allows URL redirects for this link.".

How did you get to that screen?

When I click on "text links" here: http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9258/supermediahd8.gif

It just gives a list of various products...

    Thanks again for your help.

My Advertisers > select an advertiser > Text Links > then select a generic or redirect link > Get HTML

EDIT: I've looked up the SuperMediaStore custom destination link for you. It's #10298630, the second from the top of their text links

I see thanks a lot. I think the problem is that I don't have "my advertisers" ...I guess I have to "join advertisers" right? I'll try and do that. So far I'm getting declined for a couple.

Yeah, you need to join any advertisers that you want to promote. The link/product search thing at CJ is crap. Better to just check out the sites of advertisers, then join if they look any good, then look for a custom destination link :)

just a quick question, which redirect link will i put into that box? Should it be a link FROM that site that leads to a specific product?

It's not CJ's fault that the product catalogs are outdated - this means that the advertiser hasn't sent/generated a new datafeed file for CJ to pull. Contact the affiliate manager for the program & let them know. It could be something as simple as the fact that they are not uploading their datafeed in DELETE mode (if they get rid of a product, but the datafeed isn't sending the DELETE mode, old products that aren't uploaded anymore might not get deleted).

For the redirect box, it should be a link from that site leading to a specific product (for example, if I wanted to link to the DVD category of SuperMediaStore, I'd put http://www.supermediastore.com/media1.html in the redirect box since that's where I want to send my visitors).
