I made a topic before of asking advice on my ad placements, but since that i edit some places. Can you review again and tell me what you think? the url os http://pcwallpapers.funpic.org
I think your pages look pretty good, IMO. You varied the placement of ads very well from page to page, which is nice for the visitor. Nice blending of colors and placement of images next to ads. I would think your site would do very well. How is it working for you so far?
The ads are well-placed, but seem a little overdone upon first glance. I think the site would look much cleaner without sacrificing revenue if you removed the 728x90 banner from the top. The vertical banners next to the wallpapers look terrific! Also, if the search box isn't producing for you then I'd consider removing it, too, so that more of your content is visible above the fold. Looks like a great start!
Like you say it does very well i had almost 4 % CTR ,which is pretty high for a wallpaper site. But i tought maybe you people had some even better ideas
Okee, thanks. Well at the moment the search box isnt really doing good. But i have some days that are reasonable for it and then i think: hey why not leave it another day.
Putting a visible border between the ads and your pictures are a must in order to comply with the google TOS. Read this thread (in full) http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=17104 to get a clear idea.
I believe that in the TOS it states that you can use images next to ads if you make a clear border or separation between the two, so yes, I would put a border-left and border-right css either side of the google ad skyscraper or put a pixel-wide black border around each of the pictures.
GreTel, you can refer this thread for more details on the use of images next to ads. http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=17104 But please read the full thread..
please review it again...i have places a border,is this enough? And do i need to do it also on the ads at the top?
