phpLinkDirectory Alternatives

    Hi,

I'm looking into developing a dir focusing on a niche, but phpLinkDirectory has too many requirements (PostgreSQL, MsSQL) that my host does not provide, and I'm certainly not going to be looking for a new host just for this.

Can someone please suggest some alternatives to phpLinkDirectory? preferrably free ;)

Thanks a bunch in advance! ;)

Those aren't requirements - those are options, alternatives.

All you need is support for PHP and MySQL and you're in business.

In another thread you're offering for sale a site that uses PHP/MySQL, so I suspect if your host supports that then you can run phpLinkDirectory as well (and if your host can't support it, you probably want to look for a new host).

If you're on a Windows server, you might have a problem. If you're on a Unix/Linux server, I can't remember seeing one that didn't offer PHP and MySQL, so you probably have it.

I think he thought that he needed MsSQL and PostGres, in addition to mySQL.
It is pretty evident by looking at the site in his signature that is hosted my RackFirm that he has everything he needs to run phpLD.

    Hello Skribblez,
I think that eSyndiCat directory script is a good alternative for you. Requirements: PHP and MySQL.
Support, installation and updates are free. Just take a look at their demo and take a decision...
