Humm...that shows that you didn't go through the FAQ's and Rules Here, go thru this one http://forums.digitalpoint.com/faq.php?faq=dp_faq#faq_posting_guidelines Now it's time for this thread to get closed too
Hmm you usually have to post something really stoooopid like this to get a thread closed - so far my score for that thread is an infraction and 2 red reps hehe I'm so dumb i just thought it'd be funny - made me laugh at least
Doesnt that happen all the time anyway Interesting to say the least....back to work. *edit* lol@jkomp
If there is a thread which is discussing how to attack or hack another website, it's going to be closed. Isn't that common sense?
Nope Rob, this is common sense: Sound judgment not based on specialized knowledge; native good judgment. Hope that helps.
I would like a mod to come into this thread and explain why I received an infraction on the above post. My post to that link was relevant to the theme and spirit of the thread that it was linked to, in the sense that people wanted to "shut down" that site because of its content. And you go and shut down the thread. Give me a break. And don't give me that BS from the forum rules about "Personal attacks against people, or sites will not be tolerated. If you have an issue with someone or their site, take it up with them personally." It was a discussion. It was about free speech. Such crap. Edit: I am tired of some of the nerds on this forum, who think that they are all powerful in this made up, insular little world. It was a discussion in that other thread, that is it.
The infraction was reversed. Someone reported your post and I thought you created the same thread twice. Now just relax.
I agree with all the freedoms stuff but this is DP, it has its own set of rules that we all agree to when we sign up - we just have to like it or lump it if our own personal aspirations for what dp could be are not met 100% of the time. edit: wow that's my first serious post in 24 hours.
Grrr sundaybrew do you really have to quote an entire post??!?!?! That's a pet peeve of mine lol No seriously though, I do think this thread has value, if only to highlight why certain areas cannot be covered in this forum, I think it helps makes dp a more open place and we are lucky to have mods/admin that take the time to explain decisions (for the most part).
And I will tell you why you are wrong, sunday brunch. I was not particualry passionate about the other threads topic. It was the fact that it was closed down. SO when I said that 'this concerns me', I meant the closing of the thread. Not the content of it. Thank you, Crazy_Rob. I will see you and the White Sox in October at Shea.
Sunday, what is so hard to get? The title of the thread is "On what grounds does a thread get closed?" And I linked to a closed thread. So....what?
guys put away the handbags and stop pulling hair- i think this is done. TCR has a valid issue and Rob resolved it.
