I've seen Mydeathspace.com a few times, and I just thought it was a strange idea. Never really cared about it. This time I went on and went the the forums, where people can post and comment on the deaths. I'm 14, and a lot of 14 year old's probably wouldn't say something like this, but the site is sick. Not only the nature of the site, but some of the comments. For example, death#432: There's nothing wrong with that, but when I saw the forums it changed my mind. In his thread, people were making jokes about how black people can't swim. That's just wrong. They also make fun of the people who submit hate mail to the site for listing thieir dead daughter, sister, friend..etc... Just wondering. Is there anyway the DP community can help take this site down?
its a free world, isnt it? if people want to write racist/hateful/weird opinions on a site then they have a write to do so. who are you to judge which site should exist just because people type things that you wouldnt type.
its about being fair mate, I am all for freedom of speech etc etc etc, and people can have their opinion, and they can say it on the internet and elsewhere, but you do not make fun of people because their daughter etc has died.. thats SICK, and ethicaly WRONG. I dont think we should 'take the site down' as we have no right to, but we can rest assured knowing we arent the scum sitting around at that site.
Whatever you do, make sure you do not make too much noise while you try, you will only be giving the site more traffic and attention, which it does not deserve. I do not think that there is. You know, this being the United States and all. Exactly. Either would I. I find it morally repugnant. Me and Keyser over here just DO NOT VISIT the site. Turn the dial, change the channel! Dont be a bunch of book burners. Just kidding. But I am not.
Wow. I never knew such a place existed. Kinda heart-tearing stuff with the links to the myspace profiles. I dunno. Some folk are just idiots. The only way a site like that could be taken down would be if someone who knew how to, was able to exert some dark internet wizardry.
Nah. Rotten is just a sicko site - the one in question actually has an article about the death and a picture of the person. When you click on the picture it takes you to the myspace profile of the deceased. A new low, imo. If you read through the forums there are bereaved relatives, obviously upset about the articles and pictures, getting a hard time from some of the posters. Not nice.
i like how the admin has his email hidden. that site is the biggest pile of you know what ive ever seen.
Yeah, I know it's free speech What annoys me is that the admin is making money off of dead people using adbrite. I found this site on digg. Here's a comment: "this is fucking sick. its a showcase, and these people shouldn't be showcased. the people that know them and care already know. I went to some of the pages- and the comments people are leaving are fuckin sick- seriously- like with the emo girl- someone said "another emo bites the dust." thats just sick- she was 16 years old and going through something she didn't handle right and they say something that heartless. Why dont you imagine someone showcasing your close friend's "MYSPACEDEATH." I'm sure most of you would be quite pissed. to the ones that leave the sick comments- fuck you Oh, and to the brilliant person who thought of the title "I See Dead People (on Myspace)," fuck you too" http://digg.com/tech_news/I_See_Dead_People_(on_MySpace) Anyone know if adbrite allows sites like that?
