Well... tons of sympathy from all readers will not get you anything back.
Hopefully we can cheer you up a little bit though  *he-says-on-the-way-out-to-back-up-some-data* :p

Yea, I backed up every MySQL database I had after reading this sad story. I will start making more regular backups, maybe every couple days. If there is ever any kind of fatal crash, I can get through losing a day or two's worth of submissions.

I had well over 1600 categories and my visitors was increasing, then one day i was forced to start over from the scratch and visitors fell in an instant for a whole week. Now i'm pretty much back and now have 581 listing and 1129 categories and i can now go forward were i left off. So hang on there:D

Never did... never did, no Sir.
But I did remove that little weird, annoying little link called *uninstall directory*
What a stupid thing to put there - allmost pushed it twice before I got myself together and found out how to remove it

I’m sorry to hear that but I would advise you to think twice about using that directory. I don’t know if everyone here has read this but just in case I’ll make a link to it.

i always make a list in excel first of all the categories and subcategories i want to have in my links directory. That way, you have a backup list with you always, in case something happened to your directory.

I learnt this lesson of taking regular DB backups also, with some problem with my hosting company lately :(
