Just thought some of you may be interested in this: I was just reading an article sent to me by SitePro News and followed a link on that e-mail to Search Engine College - take a look! http://www.searchenginecollege.com/articles/article-library.htm Many of you may have already seen this technique but I sure haven't and think it's very clever. The kid is actually pointing at the AdSense title, which is really effective in drawing your attention to it! They also implement the standard 3 pictures next to the google square ad, at the bottom.
I'd say that is on very ropey grounds with regards to TOS, the kid pointing is undue attention IMO. It is very well done though.
There is enough space left between the ad and the image therfore, they are safe. A clever piece of work.
If it was a big arrow instead of a ruler would you say the same. I can see what you mean but don't know if Google would agree, another one of those if in doubt, ask IMO.
I remember that, as part of Notting's The African Grey Parrot site there are arrows in the site's theme. The blocks where the ads were also had this, due to the site's design. However, google sent him an email about this and even though it was the site design rather than a design for adsense he had to remove it *. So it's definitely best to ask Google. * Here's the thread about it: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=68034
hahhaha, I just saw this newsletter today too seems the sitepro has got plenty of visitors huh. Thanks Darkhodge for sharing
Well done, even the text units are well blended http://www.searchenginecollege.com/articles/article-writing.htm
Best blogger design I have seen so far. Great job on the ads, but I think that is so grey it is pretty much if nobody notices or you don't tell Google noone will notice.
What do the people mean when they say the pictures has to have some kind of a distance because i have seen lots of websites that have the pictures close to the ads.
Same. What do you guys think about how their are Pictures next to the Adsense. Is that undue attention? Also the way the left navigation is set-up, it looks exactly like Google Ad Links.
I respect your opinion, maldives, but I don't see how you can be so sure in your pronouncement that this isn't a violation. Unless you secretly work for Google, I mean.
I don't know if it is a TOS violation, but there's something about that kid that I just don't like. It kinda looks like someone put a kid's head on a midget's body, or vice versa. Creepy.
