A couple of quick observations regarding your post here.

First, directory backlinks are now heavily discounted by Google. They don't carry the weight they used to.

Second, as was pointed out, links that Google has identified as being echanged are also discounted. And giving up a link to gain a link isn't really a very effective way to accumulate backlinks.

Third, the key phrase 'France website designer' is not a very competitive search phrase, according to the Google keyphrase term. Nor is it searched for very often.

And, according to semrush, it's not even in your top 10 search phrases that bring you organic traffic. http://www.semrush.com/info/1websitedesigner.com+(by+organic)?db=us

Also, it looks like some of your best backlinks are from...
    www.biscomputers.com/
    www.seamodeoceanographic.com/
    www.netmefrance.com/
    www.afranceproperty.com

At a quick glance, I could be wrong, but these don't appear to be link exchanges.

Anyways, just my $0.02, best of luck.

What is your competition in this field and the amount of traffic they receive. Have you spent the time researching your market and competition. Generally, when you master Due Diligence, it all gets easier.

Yes I totally agree. As long as it is on subject with quality content. Forums draw a huge number of visitors that stay along time.

Yeah. They have the money to spend so that's what they do.

I had to jump on this thread..
Either hire someone with a reputation or learn it yourself.

Better off buying a writer to write content good enough to attract attention and create buzz..
