I need some help about paypal dispute. This is the first time a got a customer like this.

Somebody already purchase my action script software at blackbeltcovers.com, and he has opened a dispute for the payment in paypal, and need a full refund.

    The reason is :
My product is unzip in .rar to reduce the sizes and he said that he don't know how to extract the files and he also said that the files can't be opened with adobe reader.

so I am already email him to download the winrar / winuha first to extract the files include the download link.

I don't know if he can unzip the files or not, but he reply again that he don't have a Photoshop software, besides in my site I am already written in my sales letter to have a Photoshop software.

so the Paypal dispute is still continue and I just want to know what will happened if the dispute is ended within the time frame and what the effect in my account ?

Any suggestion to solve this problem?
    thanks

You said you already wrote in your sales letter that a buyer has to have photoshop first, right? But did you specifically mention that the buyer should also have the RAR software?

A dispute lasts for about 15-20 days, I believe. You have the choice of either giving the buyer a refund or you can escalate it further to a Paypal claim. Paypal will then investigate the merits of your case.

Effect in your account - the money will be held and you cannot withdraw the payment that the buyer sent. I suggest that you talk to the buyer and fix the problem. However, if you think that you already gave all the needed infos, then you present that to Paypal. I'm sure they'll acknowledge that you made all efforts possible to deliver a good product/service.

The problem is that, paypal does not have any protection plan for the seller if the seller is selling intangible products.

I think the most important thing now is to make sure that you have enough fund in your paypal account in case you have to refund.

that was right, and for RAR software it is a free software and I am put the download link in the thank you page. I am also give the installation guide in www.blackbeltcovers/videos/ to that customer.

That's mean I am already give all the information to use my product, and just simply follow the instruction like in the video. but he still not closed the dispute.

I can see that you are in the right position. You better put your case with PAYPAL, and dont refund the buyer. You have good chances. It's not like that PAYPAL always takes buyer part, but buyer always comes first at PAYPAL. AS paypal is earning money from them.

I suggest you that you better resolve this issue with paypal. dont refund.
