Hello, my site (www.evilpsp.com) only has a CRT of around 3% I have optimized my AdSense to the best of my knowledge and even made a custom Ad color rotator script to keep the ads looking different. Using the color rotator did help but I know there is still a lot more that could be done, I just can't put my finger on it! Thank you for your time. The website one more time is http://www.evilpsp.com
Use a light grey background on your adsense ad (like what you have at the corners of your header above) . This will make it seem like a part of the header and attract more attention to it.
1) I think people have to make two clicks before you can get paid for that top ad on your site. First the category and then the actual ads. 2) Putting the ads where google recommends (right at the beginning of the content) will get you a better CTR. If you have a box of 3 or 4 ads and a 140x205 (w,h) picture beside it then it will get even better CRT. However, google might devalue your clicks for certain keywords if your CRT is too high (20%-30%). So I'd say the best place to put your ad is to the right (right alignment) in your starting paragraph. That way you get a high enough click through rate while not too high to the point where google starts devaluing your clicks. An example: http://www.groominguy.com/cellulite/what-is.php Just read this thread here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=17104 Critters has a better answer for you.
