    "best way to lose weight" is exactly 1000 times more competitive than "online fitness books", use the "intitle:" command when you want to know the competition the number of results has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the competition, now the fact that you have "best way to lose weight" in your domain name is not a guarantee to have that number #1 position, to get there, build quality baclinks from relevant pages and direcotries, use "best way to lose weight" as anchor text (title) of the links.

    i think some reason why some site doesn't indexed by search engine maybe because it have the same title, description or content in some or all of the pages of site. Search engines hate such websites and don’t index them and will consider as duplicate page.

    you might want to promote the main page in this case...after doing so, check again in, let say, 1 month for much higher chance....
