Dropped out of #1 for a kw phrase. It was mine for at least 3 years, and for the life of me I cannot figure out one thing that is better about the page that replaced me. That site came out of nowhere. I could see getting beat by several others that perhaps should rank above me, but for my superior seo skills. (And I ain't no pro.)

I am going to look at the logs for September, see if there was some difference in pattern for the crawls recently... anybody have something on that theory?
I have one that is a logo and alt text only, single link. Ranked #3. Admittedly, it is a low competition keyword (for now) but it is still where it was.

does the site by any chance have the keyword in the url? I have a page that has 2 bl's (both from dp) and ranks first in msn, and a site that is optimised for same keyword in the same way but is no where to be seen, the only difference is that the first has the keyword in the url (keyword-keyword.htm)

In the time one of my site's been dropped from the serp, I've noticed that MSNBot's been hitting it a LOT. Usually some pretty deep links.

Today my sites that dropped out of MSN are returning to their prior positions or at least close. New cache dates on the index pages. just a hick-up by msn I guess.

Our site jumped up an incredible amount almost to top of first page. Then dropped like a stone toward the end of the day. No changes on the site in the meantime. Wierd.

I was quite happy MSN was sending some 30 visitors a day to my game site and it was growing nicely.

Suddently on September 29th it dropped to nothing. Well, it was too nice to be true.

Yesterday October 2nd, MSN sent me 10 visitors, today at 10:50CST it already sent 19 visitors...

Worse, I've no clue why this drop and rebound from MSN.

Any idea will help - thanks.

I'm back to #1 as well. MSNBot came storming through yesterday and my rankings were back to normal by the end of the day. Yay. Hope you all move back up too! :)

last week 95% or our terms were in positions 1-3 then one site crashed to NA. No link vault, no coop, haven't gotten any backlinks for it in months.

Today everything is back and then some.

I'm back too. I'm ranking for 2 keyphrases from #7 (one week ago) to #4 now and from #1 (one week ago) to #7 now.
    Today I'm happy :)

It really depends on the KW's. I'm back for two sites that get tons of searches per day.... so the 8% that MSN has actually brings nice traffic. :)

last month msn provided over 1000 visiters to one of my sites so it all depends on the keyword

our one site will have over 200 visitors from msn by the end of the day. it really does depend on what keywords you're targeting.
