I'm not a hopeless American Liberal when it comes to this issue. Although I think most of the one-god religions have gone through their own evolutions durning the ages. I mean the Inquisition wasn't exactly a tolerant thing, either.

There's people that will interpet a holy book one way, and others a completely different way. Personally, I'm weary of their religion, but I haven't come to any conclusion that all of them are trying to kill me...so while I say 'do what you must' to the militants....

Consider that some muslims may be sane/innocent enough to tolerate as well, if you haven't already come to that conclusion.

Good point.. not everybody are evil. Not all of the mexican illegal immigrants want to hurt you either. But to get back to reality, I wouldn't like to live in an islamic country where my best status would be dhimmi.

I think Judge Brinkema's closing remarks to Moussaoui are appropos:

"You came here to be a martyr and to die in a big bang of glory," Brinkema said. "But to paraphrase the poet T.S. Eliot, you will die with a whimper."

I think he wanted the death penalty. Then he'd see himself as a martyr and die happily. I really like the judges comment... something along the lines of "you came here to be a martyr. instead you will die with a whimper." pretty bad ass for a judge ;)

here's some highlights of this whole drama for those who didn't follow it:

    and the best:

couldn't have said it better myself... i thought the expression was "when pigs fly" but this'll do.

I'm curious as to why this religion has sooo many loose chicks, that you have to get to heaven to score a virgin?
