Plus it'd be a lot harder to tell if a 3-way link isn't a chance organically set up network, which is what they want to see.

I owe to myself for registering with LinkMarket.net. They are best.

My site Vigi-Electronics.com is linked to many sites and still is being added to other sites. Its way better than you going around looking for site to have your site listed there. Think of all the time you have to spend to request for link back to your site. Plus, you are not garanteed that you will get any response. Through LinkMarket it is garanteed because the whole process is automated.
Simple, you want your site listed on someone else site, then you must list his or her site on yours first before you can be linked back. :) Lovely. Is it not? :) I get link request almost everyday. Sure, not all link requests get linked back but about 90% of it is Which is +++++++++++++ in my pocket book. Traffic to my site is increasing day by day.

Realize this anyting you do to get traffic is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy better than doing nothing and expecting the world. :)))))

Oh by the way, I am not a paying customer at LinkMarket. Sure, I believe I will get more link request and exchange if do but even without paying i still get link request and get listed....NOW THATS AWESOME FOR IT BEING FREE.

PLEASE CHECK OUT MY SITE...vigi-electronics.com Thanks guys.

As a nube, my head is spinning with all the well meant but conflicting advice re:Links, such as:-

a)"Build up as many inbound links as you can, as fast as you can"

b) "Avoid Link Farms and Directories because Google may penalize them"*

???

This is happening because some lazy smarter-than-thou Google-Geek thought this was an elegant short-cut to determining a site's "worth". Buggah the content; just look at the in-bound Links. So naturally everyone has been trying to "game" that policy.

Google is coining money; but it seems tighter than a cod's you-know-what at forty fathoms. Google could blink and not miss spending a few million financing a root and branch overhaul and recapitalization of DMOZ, and content assessment for everyone could be vastly improved.

If they won't do that because they are too tight, or because they don't want to prejudice the vaunted independence of the ODP, or they think DMOZ is beyond redemption, then why not turn this on its head and have a look at outbound links and have a metric for whether those are related to the site's content (and therefore likely to be useful to site browsers) or are random, unrelated casino-type bs, links?

For now, unless I go for low PR ranking unrelated, sites as desparate as I am for any reciprocal links (casinos, poker, viagra, mortgage, credit card, web-hosting, etc. as I find are on Link Market) my new zero Page Rank site' s only option is go for the Directories; which we see from the posts on this thread and others in these Forums, are seriously depreciated as having any value because its a very fine line between a Directory and a Link Farm. I say only option, because who else in their right mind would have an interest in Linking to PR0 me?

Link Market by the way was not worth my money; it has few paying (=motivated) members in anything related to my field, and lots of free members who don't respond (yes or no) to link requests.

When I can afford it I think I will buy Aerlis and send out humble emails to middle tier related sites, but for now its pretty much Directories or nothing at all.

*Breaking news: But judging by this thread. Viagra etc. may now be the only option:

[Thank you to bobmuch and others in this forum for the lists of free-to-submit Directories, and for all the help and insight in general to be found here]
