I have a technology news website that is slowly growing. It has been online for 3 months and getting about 100 uniques per day.

The site is slowly growing but im looking for suggestions to make it move quicker!!

It has a very nice design and good content. So why is it not moving?

How do i get more traffic?

    Do i buy Traffic?
    Do i do Link Exchanges?
    Advertise on other blogs?
    Buy Subscribers?

Social sites bring in some traffic but not much in general, only Stumbleupon is doing its job.

So what do you all think?

There is an excellent report called Traffic From Scratch and you'll find some great techniques to exchange traffic exponentially. It includes a script that is installed in your site to do it automatically.

Something like: the first month you get 100 visitas a day, the second 200, 3rd. 400 and so on.

I've read it and I liked it a lot.

I can't find the link but I'm sure you can Google it.

    Good luck.

Here are three of the things that tend to work best for me personally:

    1. Post often and regularly. I've had a good bit of growth by doing this on my freelance writing blog (often posting more than once per day).

    2. Write controversial posts. This has actually worked the best for me. I don't post often on my PR blog, but when I do, word spreads around other PR blogs, they link to it naturally, I get some discussion going, and traffic always does well.

    3. Link to other bloggers in the niche. People love it when you link to them, and it puts you on their radar (meaning they may become readers themselves, they may mention your blog, etc.).

Check out my site, the key is not so much news but information. Info gets crawled and brings in search traffic while news falls and never gets searched for. I would comment often on other tech blogs. If people like what you have to say they will follow. Its a long climb, I've been doing mine for almost two years now. You have to be reallly patient and post regularly.

Thanks everyone for there responses. I know it is going to be a bit of a long process, but I have been watching other sites in the niche grow quite quickly. Any other ideas?

These have worked for me :

    • Use paid services (Google AdWords, StumbleUpon, etc.)
    • Add link to your signature and be active on forums.
    • Use press releases (e.g. www.reddit.com)

Content is king. :) Keep adding fresh content to your site as often as possible. Make sure the content is relvent to your target audience. It should get you more visitors. Beside that you should continue regular SEO practices.
