Is there any way to make the reps non-anonymous? I hate getting some random red rep with some cryptic comment. I'd like to be able to message the person and try to figure out what the deal is.
Tbh I really don't know why this was not done, I mean yeah this is YART, but its a good point to raise, and im sure it can't be that hard to do..
Yeah, and I wish I could stop posting it, but this lame thread just keep popping up over and over and over...
Sorry if it's a repeat. I really tried to look for the topic and couldn't find anything. Whenever I searched for "rep" and anything else it just came back with all of todays posts. Not sure what was going on there. try searching for "rep sdjkfhdsjkf" and you'll see what I mean.
If someone is actually abusive or threatening in a rep, report it to a Mod. The Admins can see who left it so I am sure they would deal with it. However, if its just that you don't completely understand the comment, thats just the way it is. Even if there was a name there, I don't think it would clear it up. There are some posts I don't even understand and there is a name and everything on it
I agree! This forum loves negative feedback. Even when you help someone, you guys got to lighten up or if you disagree post why instead of hiding behind feedback. I'm sure its a select few that do this.
I think that giving a name with the rep would cause abuse by people who want to give bad rep back for the rep they received. It would get out of control
Funny, I know this thread isn't about me. Cause I always give a name with a negative rep. Granted it isn't mine, but there is one. Muhahahahahahaha! tom
I never give my name with mine...I'm just too darned lazy to type it. I hardly ever leave a comment either. Sometimes I will, but most of the time, I'd rather just give a green and move on.
http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=26107 figures more negative rep for posting about negative rep, can't say I didn't see that coming.
JSource, just FYI- Everyone starts with a reputation of 10 You can alter other people's reputation by 1 point by default For every 365 days after you register, your altering power increases by 1 For every 1,000 posts, your altering power also increases by 1 For every 100 reputation points that other's give you, your altering power increased by 1 User must have at least 50 posts before they can affect other's reputation You must have a reputation of 10 or higher to be able to affect others (it's 10 by default) You can alter up to 10 user's reputations per day You must alter different user's reputations before you can alter the same user's again So when you try to rep someone, it doesn't count.
