I recommend the Google Adwords Keyword Tool. It is the most popular and accurate one.

However this tool will only give you the amount of monthly searches Google gets for that given keyword or key phrase.

Till date I was using Google keyword tool and I have heard many of them saying that it is working and seems to be more accurate but recently I have optimized a web page for a particular keyword and it seems to appear at 1st page and may some time around 15 to 20 position and as per tool this keyword receives nearly 1600 pure hit per month but I have not received even a single hit for that keyword. Yes it is understandable that I am not at 1st position but atleast I expect a 4 to 5 hits. I can't find where I am going wrong.

Although Google Adwords keyword tool is great, you may like to try out other tools. Some of the other popular options include WebCEO, WordTracker, Keyword Spy and Keyword Discovery.

Keywords are the words that are used to reveal the internal structure of an author's reasoning. While they are used primarily for rhetoric, they are also used in a strictly grammatical sense for structural composition, reasoning, and comprehension.

A word searched for in a search command. Keywords are searched in any order. Use spaces to separate keywords in simple keyword searching.

In computer programming, a keyword is a word or identifier that has a particular meaning to the programming language.

Try the trial and see for yourself. You won't be disappointed I'm 99% sure. The software uses google's very own keyword tool, so no worries about accuracy and all that. Plus you get a lot of other cool "modules" to work with. A very, very, very powerful tool indeed.

Also, do not forget to watch all of their instructional videos before you dive into it seriously.

I have started a new thread here, and will post my experiences there, this thread wasn't meant to be specifically about that.
