Market Samurai

After having this recommended to me to use for our site, I have downloaded and watched a couple of tutorials and all seems good.

However, before I make a purchase (it's $97 for the next 7 days) I would like to ask people that have used it a few basic question.
    • How long have you used it?
    • How effective do you believe it to be?
    • Do you employ anyone to help with SEO, or do you find this enables you to do much more yourself?

    Thanks in advance,
    Jonathan.

It's a good tool and I have it, but most of what it does you can do for free, it just takes a little longer. If you do a lot of keyword research it helps to filter out potential keywords. But in the end you should use the SEO Competition module, not sure it's included in the free version (after trial expires), if not you can use TrafficTravis (free version). Some of the features are available with the "Advanced options" of Google's keyword tool. I normally only use the SEO Competition and Rank Tracker modules.

It's a good buy for a one time fee, but if you don't do a lot of keyword research you may be able to get away with Google's advanced options, TrafficTravis and the Firefox browser with the Rankchecker addon (you should also download the SearchStatus addon).

I gave a try. Didn't do what I needed it to do: properly track .co.uk SERPs - and I use Google products for keyword research so not much need there...

Market Samurai is an awesome all-in-one tool, the SEO competition feature is really helpful, IMO it's better than everything else I've used and if you learn how to use it properly then you can find some really good targets easily and have a visual view of the competition on page 1.

I'm not a big fan of it's rank tracking function though, I think they could improve that. But if you only have a few keywords to track it not that bad.

JMO but there are negative comments about the software, and I guess it depends on the time when you do the trial or use the software. Google is the one that keeps changing their algorithms to try and prevent the use of automated keyword tools, MarketSamurai constantly updates the software to deal with the changes (so much so that it almost gets irratating :)). It has lost some of it's original functionality, but for a one time fee they're hard to beat.

Almost forgot to to mention there are certain tools that do a better job in certain areas , like the banner that keeps popping up (keywordsniperpro), but as an overall tool it does a very good job.

I have owned and used MS for a few years and would not do without it. I use other keyword tools to gather keywords from far and wide and then put them into MS for analysis second to none. I agree that the SEO competition is invaluable when you can really get to grips with it. I tend to select a seed word and look at the SEO competition before hasrnessing other keywords for analysis, it qucikly identifies if you stand a chance of making it with that keyword. I have MNF and Keyword Elite 2.o but they do not analyse a like MS and KW Elite does not allow for just the UK MS does.

As has been said start witht hte trial but watch the training videos before making any decision used correctly it is powerful.

I disagree with your comment it is a good tool but absolute newbies could find it complicated. I certainly believe that in using it I have had great value for money including their excellent customer services who are always willing to help and solve any problems you may have.

And I am not an affiliate just a little old user

Why don't you try the trial first. Look and feel it yourself and judge it from there whether you find it useful or not.

For me, it's not really powerful tool. It only analyzes things, by just using the tool, you can't get money or get better rank.

I didn't think it was worth purchasing, but some people really seem to find it useful. Just try the trial out.
Guys, the keyword research part DOESN'T EXPIRE!

No, actually more often. It would be almost annoying, but I know that they're not abandoning the software. I've had it for about a year and a half and they've constantly updated it from the beginning always trying to improve it keeping it functional. JMO

Yes I agree they do make regular changes there was one today when I switched on. However my question is would you rather use software that was trying to improve its offering or one that never upgraded or did but wanted to charge you a fee, all MS upgrades are FOC now that has to be value!:)
