Can someone help point me in the right direction?
I need to find out where I can do key word research. How do I know what key words I should use to get listed on Yahoo search results?
Is there a site that I can go to that can help with key word research?
    Thanks for the help.
    Cheers!

Try using the google adwords keyword research tool . There is no such keywords , such that you would appear in the first page of Yahoo..For each keyword some promotion needed to be in the top positions of search engines .

I think that the Google keyword tool in Google Adwords is probably the best indicator of traffic for particular keywords. Search for "overture keyword" if you want to see an alternative.

I'm working on keyword research myself, and I have a question, how exactly do I use Google AdWords Keyword Tool to my advantage? Do I just type in a vague keyword, try and find low competition, and then go for high search volumes? How many keywords should I try and get?

If you want to get free traffic from Google Search Engine, so you can use some tools provide by google such as: google keyword tool and wonder wheel. If you want to get your traffic comes from Yahoo, you can also use Yahoo search results. So, before you doing any research, There are lots of free tools you can use to get best results on your research. For the paid one, I recommend to use semrush.com, I thinks it's worth to subscribed.
