Is there any way to increase your sites PR without paying money?

My site currently has a PR of 0. I went to a website that showed me all of my backlinks and their Pr's. I was very surprised to learn that I did not have one backlink with any PR. I have been submitting my site to free directories and trying to link exchange. The problem has been that no one will link exchange with me that has a site with any PR. I have also recently learned that if you submit to a directory with PR of like 5, but your website is posted on a page with PR 0, then you do not benefit. So is there reason to submit to these directories???

-so my question is, how can you improve your page rank with out paying for backlinks. (can someone help me atleast get one backlink with more pr than 0!!!)

 

Offer some great and unique content or tools on your website so that people will naturally reference your site.. And this will give you backlinks at no cost

And before submitting to a directory, look at the PR of the page where your link will be submitted

 

Yes you can increase your PR by doing:
1. Submitting to social bookmarking sites.
2. Submitting to directories.
3. Signatures in various related to your niche forums.

Yes. Get some good natural backlinks to the site. A good site would do this.

 

It takes time and the biggest way is to put your links in forum signatures of forums you use. (if Allowed) As soon as you can, put your link in here and anywhere you can. I got PR3 on my site at the last update and never spent any money for links, I just added to directories and linked from here. Make sure you have good content and update as often as possible and you will get some PR. Of course traffic is more important.

You should be able to get to PR3 by regularly submitting to free directories.

Also, your site may already have PR, but it isn't visible yet. Google won't show it until the next public update, which will probably come in about two months.

I see so many post where people say that a good site will get natural links. But if no one know about the site even if it is good it will not get links. So you have to get the word out and get traffic first. That is the hard part.

 

For one, you can start putting your link in your signature

This is what I did to get one of my sites from a PR 0 to a PR 4 within 3-4 months

1. Submit to 500 directories
2. Write 2 articles a week and place your keyword anchor tags in your bio and submit to about 400 article sites
3. Post to forums with you link in your signature
4. Post to blogs
5. most important-- choose the right keywords, use those keywords for your links pointing back to your site.

All free just takes work

also you can try link exchanges.buy a PR3-4 domain and give links and want them to add your link on their pages.

I would add one more thing, it is not link building but I am doing this now. I am adding 1-2 unique articles a week to my sites. I don't distribute these articles. Within the article I link to other articles using my researched keywords.

The bold text would be the links and these links would point to other similar articles on my site only. These article pages seem to link very well in google.
