Recently my PR jumped from PR0 to PR6, So some of my friends said that PR is update is still going on, and there no need to rejoice over this because after two - three days my PR will decrease again.. Is it true ?
yes, it's still going on. I mentioned some tools and how you can check specific datacenters on my newest, barely off-the-ground blog. also, you can check which datacenter your toolbar is querying by finding the ip associated with toolbarqueries.google.com. just open the command line and ping it. compare that with the live results from the PR check on multiple datacenters.
Yep, but I don't think your PR will decrease. Like Matt Cutts said datacenters are just updating and it will finish in the next couple of weeks. But most probably your PR now is your final PR in the next 3 months or so.
Actually it takes normally two weeks or so for the full IBL / PR Update to work its way thru all of the datacenters worldwide. I think we still have another week till it's settled in. This is my thread from July 14th http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=108437
1 way to look at it is across different datacenters to see i they are uniform. I sitll have several who are not uniform yet (all going up!). This means that some are showing the old value and some are displaing the new value. Best just to sit tight for a bit here...and bear in mind that the green bar is only updated whenever G! gets around to it, but they constantly update your true pagerank. Best
Yes, the PR toolbar update is still going on. It hasn't made it's way to all datacenters yet. Looks like the first site you have listed will show pr 6 http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://tech-buzz.net/ in your toolbar once this export is complete.
... it will. not all datacenters are updated. your toolbar doesn't query the same datacenter every time (unless you force it to manually, which I explained in the blog host). if you don't, it'll naturally change back and forth until all datacenters have the new PR.
According to Matts video and blogs about PR update some of the dc are not updated because some of them are using old algorithm. But if you can see the livepr of everysite you can already assume it's the temporary PR in the next couple of months or before the next PR update. So if you're seeing PR6 in toolbar then it will be the PR of your site .
I visited a site during the last PR update that alowed you to enter your URL and it checked all the data centers. Does anyone know that URL? Im getting old and can't remember.
it's possible that some datacenters won't update and will use an old set of data, yes. however, just because you saw a change in your live toolbar doesn't mean the updates to the various datacenters are all over. when you query the address, google randomly assigns you to one of the (active) PR data servers. it's very possible that you could hit an updated datacenter one day and an out of date one another-- assuming the out of date one is among the possible places the URI could point to.
http://livepr.raketforskning.com/?u=http://www.wmtoolbox.com/ 1/2 datacenters say Pr4 1/2 say PR1 Lets see what it ends us as.
Should be near compleetion around Friday this week, which is tomorrow. However, I think Google might be a bit behind this time. Just think of the millions of web sites to update PR for let alone the billions of sub pages! Col
Giving that my pr is still 0 across the boards is it safe to say I won't be seeing anything until the next update?
