i mean. i have a britney spears fan site if my top word is britney spears in h1 will it help? also can i change the h1 style? like adding color and font type? thanks
It won't hurt as long as you don't abuse the h1 tag. Using h tags is just one part of on-page optimization. There are a lot more into seo than simply using the h tags. The title tag is a lot more important than h tags. You can use CSS to define the h1's color, font or size. Search engines don't care much about your css styles.
yes, u shld always use H1 tag in ur web page but u used use only one H1 tag on each page n it is wiser to use it on ur main keyword so as to give them more weightage.
All header tags are good H1 H2 H3.. you should use all of them if it is appropriate. Here is how your Tags should be formatted.... The tag(s) should appear as high and to the left as possible. This will give the spiders a chance to see the tags. www.tenecor.com this site has the H1 tag fairly high and integrated into the website. Your tags should be descriptive preferably with the keyword at the front. No more than one tag type per page. Make sure your meta data, page tags, and content all compliment each other. You should see excellent results from that.
I agree with dog here, i have started using the method of placing h1 near the top also : http://www.h-log.com/ it does help in Optimization. Regards
The spider will see the tag wherever on the page you put it, as long as it is within that spider's indexable limits. You would put the heading at the top because it makes structural sense to do so, not because spiders can't see it elsewhere.
Headers are designed to be an 'outline' of your page: HEADER 1 (BRITNEY SPEARS) content... HEADER 2 (Britney spears clothes) content.. HEADER 3 (Britney spears shoes) content.. HEADER 3 (Britney spears socks) content.. HEADER 3 (Britney spears skirts) ETC. Don't just put 'britney spears' in every tag you can, do it logically.
So if I have say for example 6 different 'text areas' on my homepage do I have all the headings for these as h1 tags or shall i have my main keyword as an h1 tag and the rest as h2 tags? Which is more appropriate?
See my post: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=243381 I went on a rampage this morning after I saw a ton of people with onpage questions...
hehe, you want to know about H1 tags? Take a look at my other topic in this forum They do work, but use them only for good please!
