Is Forum Posting worth it?

I get it most of you posted here to create backlinks, and not just for discussion. But i didn't understand properly if your signature is used as backlink why do you create link in your reply.

 

Offcourse it will bring more traffic to your site if you use signatures in your post in forums,but remember even if you have 100 links from 1 forum google will count only 1backlink

 

forums are a great way to get your longer keywords out there. When a post title is "Error Message 583 fix for windows" anyone with that error message will be searching for you, works for other things too.

Since nobody has said it yet DP is a nofollow for siggy links unless you are premium.

 

is this true? I never knew :O, I thought every post on a forum = 1 backlink

Depends.

Signature links are to be used for one purpose only, backlink building. Don't count on forums for referral traffic, you won't get it unless you have 2000 posts and it's as big as DP.

Only go for PR3+ forum signature profiles, ping them afterwards so that Google is notified of the backlink as these take longer to index.

 

I always thought it helps with the occasional click or two from a forum it can add up to 20-30+ a day.

Plus the back links help also.

Forums posting is the best linkbuilding technique. Google finds very fast your backlinks.
